I guess everyone is different. Mine is definitely a deep rooted fetish, but through sobriety I’m seeing it is deeply tied to my self worth and how I see myself.

I only noticed this when sober and have PMO urges and then fantasies of being degraded, then I do some journaling and find out in those moments is when my self esteem is at its lowest.

I guess there are some of you who are just wired that way sexually But it’s very interesting that my low self esteem seems to be tied to it.

Your friends with these relationships, do you know how it started? Knowing might help me and others with this addiction

I masturbate far less than I used to. I also feel more confident that NoFap is attainable.

Sobriety? Did you use drugs or alcohol?

I'm asking because I used to be an alcoholic but I haven't drank in a long time. If you are maybe these 2 things are related in some way.

You seem to have had this fetish longer than me, mine was porn induced.

Have you found any tricks that have helped you?

Yep. 13 years sober. I think they are related. Beyond the relationship of having an addictive brain.

I think I have this huge need to run from the real work and escape it cuz it’s too much to deal with. PMO was the latest way I did this.

So in sobriety of PMO I am facing my inner demons and it’s the first time I’ve done this my entire life. That’s my true sobriety.

  9. They are not my friends, I just have read their stories and exchanged experience via kink forums. They had different stories. Mostly it is that they are men that are sexually not very confident. They have always had desires to be subs. They find a wife that is up for becoming a hotwife, the kink moves up to the point that they don't have sex with their wives anymore. I find this quite fascinating, because it simply does not make any sense to me. But these men seem to be quite happy with their lives. They can be very successful outside the bedroom.

I think it would be very hard for someone to live sexuality in a way that is not suited to their personality. I have a strong sub side in me myself, so i found courtship a terrifying thing to do and being with women who want the men to take the lead in bed is also hard for me. I can do it, but it takes an effort. ED can also stem from such feelings.

You have to explore your feelings to find out what you truly want. It takes a lot of courage to live your life according to that for people with certain desires.

I often feel the same way. Sometimes you just want to escape the world, PMO is a way to do that. But the only way we can be happy is to take the world head on.

That's really interesting. Usually these types of fetishes cause men to feel shame but it seems that a lot of men embrace it fully.

I'm not sure if I will or not. I think I need to do nofap for a while first and see how I'm feeling then.

But it's nice to hear a new side of things.

I wish I could offer some good advice. But I struggle as much or more than anyone here. I know we can dig out of the hole, but one is really in trouble when the "cure" becomes as bad as the disease.

The only thing for sure that will NOT work is to give up trying.
