    Hi!

6 days ago i relapsed and ruined my best series of 17 days.Today i just failed again and im in need of motivation.
Please do share with me at which point did you manage to master the urges? When did they started to get weaker?
I read online that after a month it gets easier. That was my goal but this is my second mini binge now since the beginning of the year (first when i relapsed 17 days) second now. So im really starting to lose ground and i really need you guys to share your relapse prevention tactics.

    Mine are the following:
I think about why i started
I think about the time i will be free
I think about the pain of relapsing
    I go to the gym
I try to stay away from home

Its just if you doubt it will ever end you end up relapsing no matter what.

    Cheers!

Hi @freedomandreallife congrats on 17 days! I’ve found it helpful to take it one day at a time, and to not get attached to timelines. I know it can be frustrating, but the truth is that for most of us, lust will ebb and flow, go up and down, good days and bad days. Did you have good days and inspiring moments where you felt you were getting a handle on this? After one week how did it feel? After two weeks? I’m guessing there were good moments and bad, but sometimes when we’re struggling we can focus on how tough it is and how bad we feel that we relapsed. Anyway, it sounds like you have some tools that are helpful. Here’s some of mine that work well when I do them:

    -meditate/pray every day
-hit the gym at least several times a week
-come on the nofap website and post every day
-try to be helpful to others
    -avoid alcohol and drugs
    -read inspiring books
-learn practice a hobby/skill like guitar, martial arts, painting, writing, etc
    -journal
    -write a gratitude list
-remind myself that every single urge will eventually pass, and I’ll always feel better after resisting acting on an urge
-hit the panic button at the top right of this website
    -practice patience and good humor
-relax my body physically and taking a few deep breaths. Consciously relaxing my face and jaw, relaxing my shoulders, relaxing my belly, and taking a few deep breaths, coming back into the body and the present moment.

    Good luck my friend!

    Thanks !
I do have a journal where i write down everything like the time i spent studying (im in college) time in the gym and most importantly and here is a tip i can give to you i write nofap in a different way. So i have the days i did not pmo / all days since nofap and my current streak. For exemple 130/170 and streak lets say 2 days clean. Also if i pmo a couple times a day i count it like i pmo a couple days . 3 PMO a day = 3 days pmo so my streak can be -2 days for exemple. This helped me prevent binges.

    Cheers!

My best streak also used to be 17 days.
Then I changed how I thought about porn, now the urges didn't just grow weaker, they're gone. I don't want porn any longer, it's easy to abstain. It takes a lot of self-reflection and brutal honesty but it's a mental effort. It's not about how much time you spend, for me this transformation happened rather quickly. It's about taking all your relapse experiences, frustration and using them to really understand what watching porn means. Unfortunately it takes a long time to describe everything in detail, so if you're curious about how I got to this point check out this thread: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/fearless-of-triggers.217806/
