Will Wet Dreams be Normal?

I'm worried that if I have a wet dream that means I relapse! Does it?

No, wet dreams are normal. If you don't ejaculate for a while, your body will need to get rid of the stale accumulated sperm and replace it with new.

If you DON'T have wet dreams, that would be worrying.

On a side note, be aware that a wet dream may trigger a relapse if you are not careful. As other suggested, try to shift your focus to something else ASAP.

They disappear and then you go to flat line.

Flat line is good because you are healing

Our bodies do not need to get rid of accumulated sperm. Our bodies reabsorb the sperm and this stimulates our endocrine system to release more powerful hormones. It's common around here to state that wet dreams are not harmful, but that is not true. They are definitely harmful, but are not nearly as harmful as a PMO.
The sexual dreams that cause them to happen are constructs of our own ego-consciousness that we have created by indulging in pornography and lustful actions.
The easiest way that I found to understand is to imagine that through our own bad habits like pornography, we have created these living constructs, almost like a demon, that needs to feed and eat just like anything else does. The food that they eat is lustfully polarized sexual energy, and most importantly the release (orgasm).
If you starve them they will come looking for food in your unconscious states (dreams) where they have more power over you. The more we allow lust to be prominent in our daily lives, the more we strengthen them and give them more power over us in our unconscious states, which risks allowing them to steal your sexual energy and feed (orgasm).
This is a tough battle in the beginning but slowly gets easier over time, and can be completely remedied.
This is why few people actually stay with nofap successfully on the long term. The ones that do must give up lustful thoughts.
We have to destroy these ego constructs.
There are also some foods that can help us battle against wet dreams, and foods that provoke wet dreams. This is a battle that we need to fight from multiple angles if success is to be had.
Results will be more rewarding than just conceding to wet dreams and considering them"normal".

I am not sure that I can agree with this 100%, specifically that wet dreams are self-induced and we should take action to eliminate them.

Let me elaborate. I was born with a narrowed foreskin, so I couldn't pull it back. Which meant that I did not learn how to self-stimulate and masturbate until I turned 20 (!). Plus, there was virtually no porn in my life then. Still, wet dreams were rather common, and, according to our doctors, completely normal.

There was no porn in your life, but there probably were still lustful thoughts. It's the lustfull thoughts that polorize our sexual energies in a negative manner which lead to the manifestation of these ego constructs.
These constructs are carried from life to life until we disintegrate them. We all have different karma (cause & effect) to deal with.

In your opinion, how are "lustful thoughts" different from your sex drive, really?

One is driven from a desire to reproduce and feel your pleasure desires, and the other is Love.
Lust and Love are like Oil and Water, they cannot mix.
One action strictly heart driven, and the other is driven by a lustful desire to orgasm, and feed the ego.
It's hard to feel a difference in the beginning but I assure you that it becomes easier with time as you disintegrate your lust.
One feeling is dominated and centered in the heart and the other is dominated and centered in the genital region.

I share your opinion on lust and Love, also on wet dreams. Just had two wet dreams two nights in a row, which never happened to me in my entire life as far as I can remember. However it's easy to determine why. In another thread I shared I'm struggling with premature ejaculation. These days I got very worked up if one day I meet a lady and she wants to make Love (I don't do the whole one night stand thing), how would I be able to cope. So I started kegels and I thought edging was a good idea, too (I'm sure it will help PE).

Since I had a wet dream the night before, I thought I was properly 'flushed' and I could use the opportunity to edge a bit. Instead I got carried away and masturbated for almost an hour. Which is great for my confidence but like u say, probably ego-based confidence. Also I did this right before I went to bed.

So why was I surprised to dream about having sex with my ex and PE-ing in my sleep (not fun), waking up to messy underwear second night in a row. What a bitter lesson. It just seems edging and not ejaculating simply don't mix. It would be appropriate to share my goals regarding PMO and PE - I wish to quit P entirely, be able to M when I choose/need to and edge while doing it, without losing my semen and all the negative effects that come with it.

Now back to your posts in this thread - important to say while I edged I didn't really fantasize. Of course in a one-hour session lust and semen build-up are still inevitable. I also don't have tons of sexual thoughts during most days, maybe the odd 'reminder' I'm a young, healthy human male that still has urges. But it just seems that starting to win the conscious battle just shifts it to the subconscious frontier, where I seem to be losing, badly.

I'm starting to seriously consider dropping everything sexual in nature consciously and hope and pray this imprints itself to my subconscious. When I tried this before, I still had a WD once around every two weeks, but I do exercise, try to eat more protein and don't really do any real transmutation so that's normal I guess. My only concern is all this may lead to repressing of natural sexual impulses that may deepen my problems.

  10. Interesting. I havent had a wet dream so far. I am wondering if I will ever get one. It seems like I somehow can avoid wet dreams.

What a wagon of horse-doo this is, and what a destructive faith framework.

Wet dreams are normal. Some people have them and some don't, but it doesn't mean anything either way. Some of us find them annoying and messy, while others of us really hope to experience them, but it doesn't mean anything either way. Some of us think of them as a sign of progress in recovery, and some of us don't, but it doesn't mean anything either way

They certainly don't constitute a relapse because they're involuntary.

  12. Thanks for sharing your views. Interesting. I can confirm that wet dreams are affected by how you threat your subconscious. If you watch a movie and a p scene shows up for 2 seconds, you get urges and white knuckle your way trough them then chances are that you will experience a wet dream the following night. I haven't had one yet so I only know how to not get them. I am not touching myself at all, not indulging in any sort of sexual thoughts ( that means just letting go of them), I am currently not checking out women and I do not plan on orgasm anytime soon. I do not browse sites with questionable content and generally try to avoid getting aroused at all.

Of course this is the right path for NoFap, the no PMO path. I was on a slippery slope, I knew that and payed the price. Lesson learned (for now :p). Does all the above mentioned mean you no longer get WD? Or just very rarely?

Good for you! I relapsed last night, what a surprise. I will try 'your' way now, complete mental abstinence to go with the physical. Keep up the streak!
