Hey all, I'm 22 years old and started doing nofap 14 days ago (hard mode, I'm very single).

I've run into a bit of a problem currently and I'm just wondering if anyone has tips or knows how long to expect these issues.

Basically I only seem to be able to sleep 4-5 hours a night. I find myself waking up constantly and I also find it very difficult to get to sleep. And to be honest this is the only thing making it difficult to keep this up. I know that relapsing won't help in the long run but it really gets to my head that it could atleast put me to sleep for a while.

In the day time I'm generally still more energetic than I was before trying this but towards the evening I am absolutely exhausted.

Thanks in advance for any help, really hoping I can get past this problem to the great beyond.

    TLDR
    Can't sleep for long enough
After tips or any ideas about how long this will last

Thanks for the response, I have fallen off the workout routine a bit because of the tiredness. Maybe I would sleep better if I worked out anyway to exhaust myself

  3. Hey brother,

I struggled with insomnia for many years. Sometimes I wouldn't sleep for days and it was really miserable. Here are the things that have helped me sleep:
    - Continuous abstinence from PMO (especially 30+ days)
    - If I can't sleep, I like to read a book for an hour or so
    - I try to meditate before I sleep for at least 15 minutes, there are some really good guided meditations on Youtube.
    - I try to avoid things that stimulate my mind right before I sleep such as videogames and TV
    - I try to stick to the same regular sleep schedule 11 pm to 7 am
    - I like to pray at night as well if I'm getting attacked by obsessive thoughts

Best of luck on your journey my friend.

Thanks for all the advice mate. Will definitely put some of these to use tonight. Insomnia for years?? Glad you have found some ways to deal with it.
I think getting a longer streak without PMO, reading before bed and scheduling a bed time are all things I'll do straight away. Thanks again brother
