Help in getting to 90 days.

    Hello fellow Fapstronauts. Please bear with me as this is my first post and I am a little confused on how this site works. Anyways, I need some advice on how to get to 90 days without fapping. I don't have a habit with porn and never have, but because of my habit with fapping I still can get tempted pretty bad with wanting to view porn. I used to only be able to get about one week without fapping. I now have improved and can get to around two weeks consistently, so I do know I am improving. My main problem with relapsing is almost always shower related. I rarely edge outside of showers, but I usually end up failing my streak because of edging when i'm in the shower. I will usually edge once and not ejaculate, go like three days without edging, and then edge for longer than I did the last time, which almost always causes a relapse. Another reason I usually get strong urges around shower time because I almost always workout before taking a shower. For some reason when I workout, "especially my legs," I get really strong urges. I'm not sure why but when I feel all pumped up and powerful after working out I tend to want to fap. This followed with taking a shower just seems to not be a good combination. I'm guessing I get strong urges because im already naked and in the restroom, which seems to just be setting myself up for relapse. As I mentioned before it is rare for me to edge outside of the shower and I have gotten much better at avoiding triggers and urges by doing activities, or things to take my mind off of relapsing. Because of this it seems clear to me my goal of 90 days is being cut short by relapsing in the shower. I feel like if I went 90 days without taking a shower and doing NoFap I could get to my goal with way less difficulty. But obviously that is disgusting and cleary not smart at all. If you guys or girls could give me any advice to beating those urges when I workout/shower then I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hello Farzium and welcome to forum!
    I will share with you something that helps me:
    -Try to not be alone at room or house=Because if you are alone you can do that when no one is watching,in few words when you are around people you will feel less urges.
    -If you feel boredom because of free time,go for a walk=Because you will cut off urges.
    -Try cold showers.
    -Go to a gym.
    -Add some hobbies if you can.
    -Face with your fears.
    -You can meditate if you want,i have seen comments that meditation can help people.
    -One very important,write on paper how you feel after PMO(porn,masturbation,orgasm).Write all the bad sides just to know what you will experience after relapse.

    I greatly appreciate the advice and the helpful tips. Question, How cold should a cold shower be? I have tried them and heard of the benefits but i'm not sure how, "cold'" the shower needs to be. Should it be like a painful cold so that you kinda have to suffer and this makes you not want to relapse? Or like a slightly cold? Or as long as it's not hot water?     Uuuh i m not sure,about that i m going to tell you what i think about cold shower.Because it is from person to person how they do things.
    When i do cold showers i do it with cold water,when i have done cold showers first few times i just showers myself with little cold water just to make me uncomfortable.

    Ok so I guess i'll just take cold showers to the point where i'm uncomfortable. That should probably help with urges.

    I thought people took cold showers so that their privates would literally be in pain from the water. Like to the point where they would shrink and turn numb. I guess I should do some more research about cold showers because it seems I don't know as much about them as I thought. Thanks again for the help.

    I did my first cold shower today - Remember..this (conquering your addiction) is not a quick race..it's a slow journey; so, using that criteria, I started my shower as I usually do..then I slowly decreased the warmth of the water a little at a time..leaving it, then decreasing a bit more, and leaving it..then decreasing a bit more...kinda easing into it. I got to the point where the water was pretty cold, but NOT the coldest. Still..it was much colder than any shower I have taken lately. My attitude is to BUILD INTO IT. Tomorrow, I will do the same thing, and maybe progress a little further..and so on the next day. The shower I had today was exhilerating and felt nice when finished. It did exactly what it was supposed to, and it wasn't on FREEZE-mode. FREEZE-mode will come. Slow and easy...work into it.

    This is exactly how I am taking on this whole fight...slow and easy...no overly dramatic changes to my life (except the immediate stopping of PMO). A little at a time. I'm of the belief that immediate, drastic upheavals can lead right back to quick relapses. Let you body and mind slowly adjust. This is not a quick fix; it's all a lifestyle adjustment. And that can't be accomplished in a day or two.
