Checking in. Cheers Book looks interesting. Have added it to my wishlist/want to read. It's also half the length of what I'm almost finished reading, so I like that idea Are you doing okay Titu? How are you doing?
I am motivated to keep this a clean month, have managed to do this a couple of times this year. Day 3 now.
Day 46 check-in Is this your first post in this challenge, @VanDarkholme? In any case, welcome to the NoFap community
It's up to you. Perhaps since you're brand new to NoFap, keep it simple and count from your current streak the way you have. Ideally any challenge you'd start from day zero regardless of where you're at, but people have different ways of doing things. E.g. some people will do three day challenge, then start the seven day challenge on day three. (I do them consecutively though) To me it's no big deal if you start this challenge from zero or your current streak. I'll admit, after a relapse in the past I've started some challenges on day two or three if I've been offline for those days. Certainly makes it easier to keep track of things. @Wolfyoufeed since it's your challenge please jump in if you see this and disagree How's the first ~8 days on NoFap gone so far? Any learnings? Welcome to the challenge anyway. May the Mandalorian armour and many gadgets be yours This is the way!
OK I'll keep the current streak. It is actually the 11th day from days count app from my mobile phone and then I found this forum and started the counter. It's weird that so far I haven't felt any urges and guess am in a flatline? I think as long as I keep myself away from porn I can definitely complete the challenge! This is the way!
Checking in Flatline - yep maybe. It's fine if it's only libido that's affected hey. Good idea with the count app on your phone. I only started using one around four months ago and have found it helpful - both to see my progress, and to count from different dates (my total, in addition to the smaller individual challenge counters). How long have you been trying to quit? Have you started a journal btw?
I had an idea to quit like 6-7 years ago but was still watching porn. My longest streak was like 50+days. Then I gave up. I realized the key to quit is not to watch porn now.
Uhuh. Yep, I sure would. If you don't mind me asking, why did you want to quit M before you wanted to quit P? Don't get me wrong, it's a perfectly legitimate goal, it's just different and I'd like to understand it. I think most NoFappers start with wanting to quit P, and M just falls along beside it, not the other way around. We say "PMO" and have the preset goals because the majority of NoFappers' goals would fit into three zones: wanting to quit just P, or P+M, or P+M+O.
I was told by a friend that M and loosing semen in that way would cause many health problems and I believed it.
@VanDarkholme I just read your "New to Nofap" thread, and your "This is the Way" thread (nice title btw haha!). Good on you for starting the journal. I'm a big fan of journalling to record goals, triggers, the "why" you want to quit etc, which is what it looks like you're starting to record. Btw, if you'd like a link to your journal to appear beneath your username: Copy the link, hover over your username on the black bar at the top, go into your personal details, and go to "Journal Thread Link". Paste the link there. So that was initially hey? And now by your "This is the Way" thread, (and signature) I see you want to quit all three: P+M+O? All the best on your journey. Here are some videos which will have helped me, and may be of some use to you as you chase down a NoFap life Here's one of the earliest and most well-known videos on the effects of pornography. It's now 8 years old, and the same info keeps being reinforced by further studies. Here's one with similar info, released earlier this year, animated. And finally, one that talks about addiction generally, and how it really works.
Trying to get some personal stuff back in order which causes stress, thats when relapse tends to happen. Trying my best to get back on track.
