Happy New Year to everyone! Yesterday was good, today is good. Please, all stay strong! See you soon guys.
Day 1 completed. Happy to start the engine finally. "Semen is the engine oil. And the food we eat is the fuel. Without the engine oil engine will seize." May this year be PMO free for all of us fapstronauts.
check in saturday ! when the urges are mild is more easy , but important is to survive the storm when starts
welcome to all the new challengers , lets make this year , a year to remember ! we can succeed , it is possible , so many people have done it , even with weak and tempted ass like me
Don’t be too harsh on yourself. When you first start, it can be a useful replacement to ease yourself through the process. The further you go through this, the easier it will become.
I already relapsed on the first day of the new year. And on the second. It shows how serious my addiction is and that I need to take serious steps in order to make a true change. The newyear resolution alone has achieved nothing! I want to quit porn for life!!!
@Blue Beast Well done! Getting started is tough. The urges in the early stages are difficult to get through. They will keep coming, and they might even get stronger, but focus on the change you want to make. @pangolin_21 It’s OK not to succeed at first. You clearly want to do this, but things worth having do not come easily. Let’s take it a day at a time, even an hour at a time. Every urge you can resist is a little victory. Also, try and find an alternative outlet for when the urges show themselves. Post on NoFap, writing out how you feel. Even just filling your time with another activity which will prove easier to stop in time will push you in the right direction. A last little piece of advice would be to reward yourself. Instead of taking your chemical hits from PMO, try giving yourself a little something as an achievement. Maybe every day, weekly, or whenever you hit a milestone. I have a podcast I listen to every day, which is numbered. It means I’m keeping track of the days, and have a little chuckle to myself as I do it. And how disappointing would it be to stop after episode 126? I’ve come this far!
Thanks a lot for your advice @Schia ! I like this method. Maybe I'll do something similar. I noticed, many here do challenges and after a relapse they just restart the challenge. But I also found a challenge where you can only participate once, you either win it or lose it. I think the latter is more like the reality of this addiction. Every time I relapse I lose something which can never be restored. There are no free-ones anymore. As an addict I can't control anymore what I like to control again. Voluntarily feeding my addiction for so long, I have lost control over time. Therefor I need to be patient and kind with myself and accept setbacks. But I know me. If I continue to tell myself "it's alright" and if I just "try" I won't make more than streaks. Instead I need to force myself strategically into giving up porn. I need to do a lot of work to replace bad with good habits.
actually you still can check in , just put in a brackets how many times you reset this year ! it will help you make less resets , working as a kind of calendar log !
Thanks @Schia ! Yeah, even today I am watching YouTube, but it is for learning more about investment and wealth creation. So yeah, I would say YouTube/Google are not all bad. Sure they are designed to have ads and keep us hooked. But at the end it all depends on us, whether we chose to search po*n or Topics to gain more knowledge, such as investment, science, psychology, programming... and the choice is limitless. Let's get stronger than yesterday.
