    Hi

Here, I would like to share my experiencesand thoughts regarding my struggle.
Doing this more for myself, as I would like to keep a note of elevating ideas I would encounter both from this forum as well as my own experiences. This thread would prove handy when I would be fighting my urges and other triggers, while would also be helpful for those who are interested.

I have talked to a lot of my friends about PMO. For many this is a drastic problem, while for remaining others it's just nothing at all to worry. One of my friends told me that M isn't his problem and he does that just because he has heard that something bad (biologically) may happen and that M is normal. And believe me, he really meant that.
So, what is it then with these kind of guys, that they can just sail through it likenothing and we here are struggling likeanything???
After some thought,I felt that, the answer could be , for them P or M or PM isn't simply the option.
Whether they are tensed or relaxed or lonely or desperate, P or M isn't the thing they are goning to do. Simple yet sodifficult.
So, what-if we be able to just cut thisoption of PMOing out of our lives, justbear with the urges and all our triggers, and try to be immersed in some other things instead.
Just do away with this option altogetherforever.....

Biologically the most basic aspect of our body/DNA is to reproduce.
Spiritually too, our tendency to expand and be present eternally is most dominating.
Hence the best of what we have is transformed into and used for the production of life forming force (includes seminal fluid, sexual energy, etc).
If this is it, then it's highly disturbing when we discard it away just for momentary fun(compare this with something you earned the hard way, your college degree, an important project, etc), it's even incomparable, yet we do it.
Our healthy eating, gyming, learning things, earning , our experiences all are some or the other way finally transformed into that most important thing- sexual energy, to pass it on to the next generation.
    So, WHY WASTE IT???

I am too afraid to admit to anyone that I’m doing a NoFap because that would admitting I had a PMO Problem in the first place. Don’t think I could handle the shame

@gunslinger215 - I can totally relate. I was just thinking today that if everyone knew when I was PMOing I would have never have developed the habit. I guess the good news is that if everyone knew, they'd also know that you chose to stop.

That’s true. If people I know knew that I had come this far, they’d be proud of me. The journey is far from over.

@powerful096 like @gunslinger215 , I am amazed that you and your friends are so open about this. Maybe its a cultural thing, but I think its pretty cool that you can talk about it. The affects for me are more emotional, I used it to sort of "escape", which is not healthy. It's also reinforced by a dopamine rush which for me created an addiction. M is not wrong or evil, but habits and addictions are, IMHO. My problem was not that I did x, but more that I couldn't NOT do x, even though it was affecting my relationship, and distorting my emotional health.
You know you best. You're doing great. Change what you want to change. Cheers.

Don't worry too much,,, feel comfortable to share what you feel here, on this forum. Lets just give it some time and see if you can accept and gather some guts to face people and share this someday.

Usually, that's how I feel. But, my good friends I've talked to about it, now, after being clean. It is usually to let them know that other people struggle when I hear about some of their struggles with this or another addiction.
All of us are proud of each other in our struggles! Good job to one and all in this fight!!

Hey, @powerful096, if you do doubt the badness which is this addiction, then swing over to 40+ and you'll see that it has brought all of us no end of heartache after 20, 30, 40, 50 years some of us!!! You do NOT need this in your life. Kill it now. Kick it out the door and never let it back in. You will definitely have a far batter life [=

@rostronaut was just saying how lots of YouTube videos from India do not take this seriously at all, and to not pay attn to those because it's clear to him this is a serious issue!

I do think it's very brave of you to talk to your friends. That's a great sign of humility in my book. Thank you for your good example, and being willing to talk to us here, as well.
    :)

Today, I relapsed, it's a very bad feeling.
I can notice the change in my energy level, concentration(am a student), some brain fog, late back attitude coming in.
    Now,
    I should :
    1. Be more vigilant.
    2. Not to listen to my mind (that I will stop, just after watching this..)
    3. Not skip meditation session.
    4. Focus on my task in hand.
    5. Take help of nofap when in need.

I am just deleting porn and masturbation from my memory. I have a lot of work to do. Lot of dreams to fulfill. A great life waiting for me. Only I know the great havoc PMO has caused in my life, I want to get rid of that and live a fulfilling life I deserve. A life I would be proud of when I would be on my deathbed.....

    Few observations :
    1. Meditation - A gamechanger it soothes your nerves, anxiety goes, you get that much needed space from your thoughts.
    2. Being busy - Idle mind is a devil's workshop.
    3. Have to change the perspective towards women - You cannot expect different results from the same action, have to mend few things.
    4. Controlling the single organ won't help, need to have some control over eyes, ears, tongue and time.
    5. I have found few things which give me real pleasure, make me happy, like reading good books, articles, listing to awesome songs.
This will substitute the dopamine requirement of your brain.
    6. Keep on visiting this site, and reading other motivating stuff repeatedly for good amount of days, let these thoughts consolidate in your mind.
    7. Write down your action plan, for battling urges when they come.
    8. Nofap is not something extraordinary, it just takes training, training your mind and body.
Your success will be defined by how good you train yourself.
    9. Please, do yourself a favour - don't expect quick results.

Recently I decided not keep my personal energy contained as I am a very energetic and creative I inividual who's personality has been the envy of others or I have inadvertently threatened them with my presence.

I am not being cocky or arrogant but at 45 if you don't know your strengths and claim them you'll probably buy into the bullshit others believe about you.

So, I stumbled across Nofap today and see this as an extension to containing my essence and personal power.

    I'
    .looking forward to the journey.

    Thanks for your post
