    "Brother,

    I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you don't TRANSFORM your life, you will always relapse. There is not "super fast", "quick", "never relapse" method to ending this behavior.
    NONE.
    Your life much change- preferably to a new life where it is difficult for you to view pornography and masturbate.
    In your reboot, if you do not explore different ways of creating new lifestyle, the factors which led to your relapse will creep back into your life.
    Lets get one last thing clear about relapses as well.
    A Relapse is not an event.
    It is a process.
    It starts many weeks or even months before your first slip.
    Today, I'll cover 7 reasons why you are likely to relapse this month.
    My hope is that you'll use this knowledge to prevent a relapse.

    1) Life Gets Better:
    Simply put, you've been doing well for months without any serious urges to use porn, so you revert back to your former lifestyle without maintaining any of the practices which kept you off porn and masturbation in the first place.
    Do you feel that you're in control?

    2) Too many issues:
    You have too many problems which you ignored or procrastinated on. You've decided to tackle your porn and masturbation addiction, but quickly find that your other issues keep overwhelming you.
    Your relationship with your wife is falling apart, you have a drinking problem, your career is consuming your life and stressing you out, you don't know how to relate to your kids, and you are filled with guilt for all the lies you've been telling your partner.
    Your problem is that you do not have access to enough resources to help identify which problems to solve first.

    3) You don't take Reboot Skills Seriously:
    You don't want to do what it actually take to reboot. You struggle with keeping appointments, you avoid being around people, certain places and situations.
    You have no anger managements skills, no support systems and making friends is a skill you lost in college which was well over a decade ago.

    4) You're playing a game of "False Rebooting":
    You NEVER fully commit to rebooting. This is because you actually don't watch porn and masturbate daily or even weekly. You fall into one of two categories.
    a) The man who only binge watches porn a few times a year. But when you do, you have a "hangover"- mentally slow, unmotivated, isolated, irritable..and this lasts for weeks or months.
    b) The man who switch up his behavior to avoid accepting the fact that he is relapsing. For instance, you stopped watching porn- but you now masturbate to erotica/ sexualized literature including manga. You stopped visiting prostitutes or watch "transwoman" porn, but you often visit their websites to "get a taste".

    5) Untreated Trauma or Mental Illness:
    You are depressed, but have never been diagnosed or experienced abuse as an adult or child but repressed/ ignored it for years. You are in denial about it and your own "research" ( on the internet, of course) has convinced you that the one therapist who diagnosed you with "x" 8 years ago has no idea what he/she was talking about. "I'm fine now", you tell yourself.
    Are you, though? Is the world around you a little crazy- or are you?
    Mental illness is no something to be ashamed of. Just like your behavior with porn addiction, it must be addressed.

    6) Weak Belief:
    You really believe that no matter what you do you will relapse. You do not believe that 100% freedom from pornography is possible.
    Your belief is weak because you never maintain the skills and habits (which requires repeated daily practice) long enough to to quit porn for good.

    7) Unexpected Events:
    Unexpected events could be positive or negative.
    Positive events could be a new relationship, new career, a promotion, or having a child. Negative changes could be unemployment, divorce, a break up, death of a loved one, or a serious medical diagnosis.
    These changes often lead to a change in your daily routines, disconnection from people who support you and even depression.

    I get it. I used to be completely unable to do any kind of work at home - things are a bit better when you take the time to set up a home office. But it has to be said that, being a place you are alone for long periods, a home office is rife with peril with those susceptible to relapsing when alone. Which I think is all of us.

    Because of this, coffee shops used to be my default (I'm self-employed so I can work almost anywhere). With all coffee shops closed, I'm kind of at a loose end. Thankfully my partner is at home most of the time during this crisis.

    It's day four for me, and I'm checking in. This is about my third time around. I am spending more time on NoFap this time so that I have a better chance. I'm also reading material I downloaded on freedom from PM.

    That is really interesting. I was going to ask what TCM stood for but I think I 've figured it out... traditional Chinese medicine?

    Spent some time with parents and watched some movies. Feel the urge are hitting slowly, even I did sports or took a cold shower
    I want to be finally an Uruk-Hai!
