From my experience, and I spent 2 whole months in silent meditation retreat last year to try and deal with PAWS (was close to moving into a buddhist monastery) absolutely nothing helps speed up PAWS. Thats the unfortunate truth I've had to swallow, you have to pay the debt in full no shortcuts.

Things like phone screens, social media etc do for sure make you feel like shit in the micro, but in the macro have little effect on duration of PAWS. Perhaps they could effect it a few %.

But for example I've been in a silent retreat for 2 weeks without any form of communication or reading of any kind, just meditation from morning to night, and for sure when you first use your phone after the retreat it gives you a headache and is overhwelming for a few days, but it seems completely orthagonal to PAWS in my experience.

The point I’m trying to make is that smartphones, video games, and social media are specifically designed to be addictive and there have been studies that forums pose less of an addiction risk than networks. Networks such as social media networks, mimic the neural wiring of the brain and are inherently addictive in how they provide endless novelty and the insensitivizing of notification and engagement seeking. This in my opinion undoubtedly overlaps some of the addictive brain changes we are trying to correct and engaging in these activities keeps that wiring active. This is why I believe it will prolong your reboot. Not to mention having a full blown relapse of paws after 6 months of feeling great after reactivating Facebook. In my first few reboot attempts of 10+ months I used social media and it had no affect. After kindling through several spaced out relapses it can come to have a very pronounced effect if you become hypersensitive to erotic stimuli.

  3. No, pmo is way far more damaging than internet surfing. A journey of surfing can be resolved by a night of sleep and ready for the day. Whereas pmo can set you back tmonth to 60 days in worst case scenario. So imagine you've been doing that that for 5 to 10 years mixed w kindling and edging. That's why heavy rebooters experience hell of withdrawals and paws and they may last up to 3 years w a serious reboot i.e slim chance of relapses.

I don't know about you guys but I very much doubt that regular surfing on the internet can damage you like watching porn. If it did then you would feel the same high from doing it. I'm not saying it can't be detrimental too but to a much lesser extent. Same with sugar, music, video games... etc

No one is making the claim internet surfing is as damaging as porn. Thats for sure

You should look to reduce all compulsive habits during PAWS, including social media, internet etc.. just for the sake of being healthy

But lets be clear; abstaining from PMO, hard/monk mode is the main thing

I don't think that the effects of using social networks, web surfing, gaming will be the same as PMO. However, they put you in front of a screen with an internet connection - they are part of the same environment, which increases your danger of lapsing. This is why I avoid them. At the moment I am having strict rules about what technology I use and when, and it is working. This is simple habit-forming activity. I used to have a dedicated gaming laptop that was incapable of connecting to the internet. It just had one game on it, but I could play it for hours, and I avoided porn. I kind of miss it... but my feeling is that there is so much in analogue / real life that I've missed out on because of screen time and especially PMO, that I'd rather just do an hour a day online of stuff like this (posting on Nofap), and admin emails etc, and then go and read a book in the garden.

  7. just forget that whole semen retention religous bullsht, then you dont have to worry about that! Reading aloud 30 minutes from a real book(not from screen), slowly. Just before you going in bed may reduce wet dreams. Also not eating at least 3-4 hours before sleeping!

You right, it is nerve damage, i was in same situation. Kindling cause glutamate + dopamine toxicity, and thanks to that nerve damage. Nerve damage takes few years to heal, with good program that focusing on stimulating their regrowing.
For example you should force yourself smiling front of mirror everyday for few minutes, also can try gargling. Nerves heal from being stimulated! Exercises are big factor to heal them.

I read you had shaking episode too, and got problem with balance, muscle coordination. You can look for cerebellum exercises, they should help.
Do you want to get kundalini syndrome man? Just dont hurt yourself more. Meditation will not help with paws, but you may will feel like you in a new dimension thanks to derealization!

Thanks for the advice. I've also heard that lion mane mushrooms help to regenerate nerves. So that could also be worth a try.

Day 66. This is crazy. Symptoms seem to be getting worse. I barely slept 4 hours and woke up with negative thoughts and terrible anxiety. Not to mention that I've been having constipation mixed with diarrhea for the last couple days. What really worries me is that I keep obsessing over my physical appearence. I constantly find myself thinking about my physical flaws such as my weak chin, jawline or my skinny fat body. Things that I normally wouldn't even notice suddenly become a problem. I don't know if this is my brain trying to trick me into relapsing or if it's how I truely feel about myself. I f****n hope these feelings will stop.

congrats on your 66 days. All i can really say is hang in there. I went through the same period you did during my first 4 months on this attempt and it was brutal. You are going to have doubts, fee free to pm me if you need some extra help.

i believe i can weigh in on this topic as the first 6 months of my reboot was very strict on tv/gaming etc and the last 3 months i have completely relaxed my restrictions (except for no pmo).

Firstly i think its mainly relevent for us long rebooters because it seems that other people do just fine taking nothing out of their lives except for pmo.

in terms of actual recovery time i do not believe it has any effect or very little, however i do know that stress plays a massive role in us longer rebooters and tv/gaming etc are stressful activities (especially gaming). Reducing stress is the number 1 way we can manage these symptoms so its reasonably to assume that gaming or tv can make things worse.
It has in my experience, i feel more tired, stressed out, down and anxious after too much of tv/gaming.

Do it (with a palpatene voice, I know you can hear this). I told my parents about my porn addiction and they thought it was weird but didnt care much for the rest. It helped me get it off my chest and im doing better now.

  17. Had big relapse in 2017 end, after that had tremors, noticed burning skin, muscles, numb body , low muscle tone, stablizing muscles stopped working, and other nasty symptoms...from that 2,5 years until today. (I had one more relapse to hypno curse one time in May 2018)

But to be honest If I knew that, what I know now...I would say I could recover in 1,5 years from most symptoms. But I was missing alot knowledge for that. I still have headaches, some muscle problems, but I feel like my recovery speeding up thanks God, we will see what happens in summer.

Can work too, I never tried, but I read it can be used for that. Once I tried cordyceps, did not do much for me, but maybe they just sold me some random yeast for alot money.

Day 70. Feeling absolutely terrible. I tried to stop using my phone 2 hours before bed for the last few days. It hasn't made a difference. Last night
I dreamt that I was watching a ***** fingering herself but I somehow managed to wake myself up before ejaculating.
It almost feels like someone is manipulating my dreams like in the movie Inception. Right now I'm feeling so weak that I been laying down in bed for the last 2 hours. Negative thoughts are still persistent. I keep having these constant body dysmorphia like thoughts where I keep obsessing over my physical flaws. I hope this shit will end.
