I am looking for some good self help books. I want to reduce my social anxiety and become more comfortable in talking to girls. I also want to reduce my procrastination. If anyone can suggest me some books giving practical steps to follow rather than some high flowery language saying be yourself, it will be much appreciated!! I have read 1. Power of your subconscious mind 2. I am starting How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie Any other suggestions??
The ultimate "self-help" bible of all time: Tony Robbins - "Awaken The Giant Within" Way too many self help books are based on the work of Tony Robbins. You should check out some content of his audio workshop "Personal Power" on youtube, it totally changed my life and all that while grocery shopping and house work. Just keep in mind, dont just listen or read the stuff, take action and notice the difference. "Power of your subconscious mind" is a good example of crazy tools that actually work but require a period of time of daylie action to make it work, it was my 2nd self help book which my team leader requested and he also told me how he used the technic to buy a car for 120k € and an appartment for his office for 500k € and trust me, he's the last guy that believes in god or higher powers
Books will just give you guidelines, do it, try it, over and over, is the only real way to overcome those things. What i'm trying to say is, books can be helpful, but books won't do magic, is easy to get hooked to self-help books and take close zero action, just go bo after book looking for "the key", I know that from experience, DO IT, read, ok, fine, but then, DO IT.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey is a great practical steps workbook. It has a very logical structure, if you implement its suggestions, you will certainly benefit.
Self-help books will give you information. But what you need to change is experience. My opinion is to start with the physical. Way too many guys are imbalanced physically - too skinny, too fat, too skinnyfat, too weak, etc. And this leads to a lack of confidence that carries over into other aspects of life. Also physical discipline will carry over into mental discipline. It isn't easy to lift the iron when your muscle is burning and every cell is yelling at you to stop. It its even harder to commit to waking up early and getting after it for a consistent period of time. Its easy to sell a book because there's no accountability. The authors know that it just needs to sound good. Whether you follow through or not is out of their control. This is why I say that information is deceiving. Analysis Paralysis is the biggest marketing tool for the self-help industry. You read one book, still haven't gotten the changes, so you buy another one, ad infinitum. Next, don't invest your money on self-help books. They're all free as .pdf online anyway. Instead, spend your money on tangible real-world benefits, like barbells and healthy food. So get physical is first: sports, training, martial arts, healthy diet, movement and a blood panel to measure for any underlying conditions. This will do many times more for your mental health than any single book will do.

I understand that acting instead of just reading is required to see any results!! I am working out from last 2 weeks, and I have also stopped eating sugar and processed food. Thanks for the advice man. I will start weights now, and hope to get a more curated diet. All the suggestions are truly appreciated!
Six pillars of self-esteem by Nathaniel Branden. I don't think that you can read too many self-help books. In one or the other way they send you all the same message, but you just have to hear it over and over again and getting things explained from different angles, to really get the right mindset into your head. Also biographies from successful people you admire can give you a great benefit. Even here you'll start to discover some patterns nearly all successful people seem to have in common. The more you occupy yourself with these topics, the more you kinda wash your brain into a better mindset.
Make sure to be taking action to supplement your reading. It doesn't matter how much you study if you never apply what you've learned. While you gain the knowledge of social interactions, put it into use and talk to girls.
I was going to recommend this. I've just finished it but im going to read it again. Goggins got me to take up running and now I want to join the military. I'm not saying everyone should but we should all strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
I would recommend you DEEP WORK, also I would say that try to take actions. It's the most important thing say a person reads 10 books in 10 days but keep his/her life as it is. You cannot expect change while a person who just reads one book a month and takes action goes ahead . The best way I could recommend you is to watch the summary of the book ( for Hindi prefer seeken, GIGL. Lifegyan , and for English there are many youtuber that I follow. If you feel after watching that it properly fits your agenda you can buy it then.
Atomic Habits by James Clear. It's not about pornography but it is a solid guide to implementing healthy habits. Reading will never hurt. It isn't the only answer, but it is a great use of time. Far better than playing video games or anything like that. Also sometimes you need INFO to act EFFECTIVELY. I know the comments above were meant to motivate you to change, but taking intentional time to read can have a very positive effect on what you DO.
