From what you're saying it sounds like you were hoping for a quick fix to a deeper problem. Have you talked with a doctor about your depression? You might find it helpful to start some talk therapy and/or medication. If you regret your decision to resign from your career then you might be able to talk with your boss and let them know you're getting help. I hope you feel better. Don't be disappointed man, you had an awesome streak this time. Now set your sights for this streak even higher!! Sorry for your reset man, stick with it!
I had a discussion with my boss on this and he agreed to help me come up with a plan for next 6 months considering my expectations as well as other learning priorities, so at least I don't have to retire doing the same boring activities. My HR Manager had some similar stories, and he made a career move (from technical support to Management) by taking sabbatical and getting his MBA degree and then doing what he is enjoying now. I am happy they understood my situation, and told that they would help me plan my career and switch to better projects. So for now, I will take my resignation back. By the way day counter is doing its job 18/207
