@Giacomo Leopardi stop playing and tag me when you want to talk. Don't try to answer my questions without me knowing. I know you want to throw some words, don't be afraid to tag me.

You weren't getting the hint so let me spell it out: You obviously are not reading any of the studies or testimonies that people in this thread are asking you to check out, so I had to dumb down the entire concept into something you could understand (aka Lizard Brain). Clearly I overestimated you.

There's nothing to absolve anyone from. Whether they were jerking themselves to gay porn, sticking a dildo up their ass, or sucking some dude's dick, there's nothing to absolve. That's just shit people do. The motivation to do those things comes from unregulated dopaminergic reactions, and the only ill effect is causing psychological distress or possibly furthering the addiction of the user, so no absolution is required.

Do you think it's a new concept to here people compulsively doing things they don't really want to do? Ever heard of drug addiction? Ever heard of sex addiction? Ever heard of gambling addiction? Are you gonna tell me all those things are things people really want to do?

Pretty sure it's qualitas occulta bro. Take a Latin class.

I'm about to graduate with a STEM degree from a school that consistently ranks in the top 5 overall universities in USA Today, Forbes, and the Princeton Review. Don't try to talk down to me. It's cute but annoying. I'm leveling with you, you can do the same.

Normal sexual stimuli is really easy to define. It's anything that doesn't cause a dopaminergic reaction that was not regularly experienced by evolving humans.

Boobs, butts, skin, nice eyes, big lips, and legs are all exampled of normal sexual stimuli. In females, normal sexual stimuli includes big muscles, bigger height, body hair, and a strong jawline.

Abnormal sexual stimuli includes watching gangbang porn with 1 girl taking 8 penises, sissy porn, a guy getting his balls twisted so much they turn purple, I could go on but I really hope you get the idea.

All you have to do is look at the dopaminergic reaction and if serotonin is involved. For example, if one guy hooks up with his girlfriend every weekend for two months, they're probably going to feel pretty normal and content. That's an example of normal stimuli. There may be a lot of dopamine released, but the physical interaction with another human causes serotonin to be released as well, which negates dopamine production and causes you to feel happy and content.

If a guy is watching sissy porn and cumming to it twice a day for that same amount of time, he is exhausting his dopamine receptors and not generating any dopamine to calm himself down. That's an abnormal stimulus.

If you can't make a distinction between normal ad abnormal stimulus, really just do some critical thinking and soul searching. It's not that crazy to think about.

People around here care about what he says because the shit that he says works. When you stop abusing porn for 3 months and rewire for a couple more months, your cravings reduce extremely, sex becomes much more enjoyable, and life just seems more satisfactory. His words are popular because they work for so may people.

And these "dubious" studies are indexed by the same organizations that do research for whatever hospital you go to, make recommendations for the food you eat, and tell EMTs in ambulances how to take care of you if they find you knocked out on the street. You can try to distance yourself from these studies, but they're from the same people that make your life so prosperous and privileged. Saying they are dubious or worthless is just a huge showing of naivety and ignorance of all the work that goers into the society you live in.

And FYI, none of us like to watch the homoerotic shit. It makes us feel like crap, before, during, and after it happens. We don't want to do it. We are fucking addicted lmao. We don't like to do it.

And before you say we're gays in denial, PLEASEEEEE go read the study I've linked like twice by now, on the gay men who habitually and compulsively watch straight porn even though they are obviously not gay. I've asked you to do that three times now, I feel like I'm talking to a wall.

There actually is a really scientific way of knowing whether someone is gay: if the idea of marrying a gay man, living in a house with them, and being intimate and connected with that guy makes a man feel happy and fulfilled, then they are gay.

We do not feel that way. We feel cravings for watching gay porn. It makes us feel like shit though, and we have no desire to do anything intimate with any man we see. We are not gay. We are just addicted to gay porn. This is getting a little frustrating bro hahaha.

  3. I am going to be magnanimous and concede the debate.

At worst, I lose a argument, but I recognise that you are arguing to preserve your existence.

And, verily, how can I hope to overcome the concentrated power of the mind of an American undergraduate from a top 5 university (!) when I (apparently) can barely read and write?

    Adieu, gentlemen!

Honestly those snarky comments make it seem like you're arguing to preserve your own pride/ego, but I suppose it was a valuable discussion. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Call me naive but I was actually counting on the 90 day reboot giving me a "factory reset" to my sexual desires and appetites. And that the reboot will motivate me to go to the gym and to improve myself enough to be able to date a real life woman. But back in "porno fantasy land" I was most lately watching sissy porn and she-males and feeling ashamed of myself that I can c*mming to that extreme stuff. And good think I dont drink alcohol or I may have made the leap to actually call a trans-escort and turn the fantasy into REAL LIFE. Can you imagine if the neighbors had seen it thru their window?

Or imagine if I had gotten drunk and then drove to a gay bar and "whatever happens, happens"..... Not that I am a homophobe but I can assure all that it is just porno fantasy and that if you stay in PMO long enough you will probably end up watching true depravity tastes of disgusting and revolting stuff, even beastiality or pedo if you go deep enough down the rabbit hole. Dont think it cant happen to you.

I'm not a pretty smart person. I'm a mediocre one so I'm not gonna use academic language to express myself.

You know, I read this quote somewhere a few years ago: ,,The aim of an argument, or of a discussion, should not be victory but progress.''

From what I can see, you are just as any ,,twitter debater''. When a person says something, but it goes against your agenda, you fire back insulting that person, and not giving a respectful counterargument. For example, you mocked OP's religious believes, even though he didn't say anything bad against your sexual orientation. It's disgusting. You labeled him gay/bisexual right away, because you straight up associated his story with yours. Why? Because this is the ,,new normal''. If those experiences made him feel depressed or suicidal, that means something is wrong.

You reply in the hope of winning the argument because that's boosting your ego and giving you some self-pleasure. I saw that A LOT on social media and at the end of the day it doesn't change pretty much anything. It's just a waste of time.

I have the same kind of story, I even tried to accept that I might be bisexual. Guess what? It didn't magically made me feel better, it made me feel worse. It made me feel like an alien in my own body. Why? Simple, this was not the person that I wanted to be or live like. For me, it was just porn, which escalated to ,,c'' porn, which is the worst one. I didn't care what I have in front of my screen if it made me feel aroused. And yeah, I am aroused by many fucked up things worse than trans or gay porn. An example will be dead bodies of women or gore/snuff things. In YOUR opinion, it this normal? Should I come out and embrace myself for what I watched? No.

At the end of the day is just porn on a screen. If you like pursuit it in real life, go for it. If you want to explore your sexual orientation/sexual tastes, go for it. Nobody stops you! But if you think that these might affect your mental health and you don't want to pursue them in real life or as a lifestyle...then you should stay out of it. High usage of porn will affect you in a way or another. Some are affected worse than others and some seem to not be at all. We are different.

High usage of porn consumption is still a new thing and a pretty taboo subject. It has going on for about 17 years. We will see in the next 30 how the world and the new generations will be affected by it.

Let's be respectful, even though others are not.

  8. Trans women are a fabrication and not a naturally occurring entity. If you’re gay you’re attracted to men and if you’re straight you’re attracted to women. Trans porn tries and gives the notion of chicks with dicks when in reality they are males with breast implants. A straight male who is deeply into porn can escalate to that category believing it’s some exotic form of woman rather than a man. When coming to the realization that he’s deeply mistaking he can end up in a situation like OP. Sure maybe if there wasn’t social stigma OP wouldn’t feel as bad but obviously this is not what he wants and is a product of his addiction. Stay away from porn and all things that trigger you to watch it.

  9. Giacomo is basically condoning porn usage and obviously doesn’t grasp the fact that it is detrimental and perverts the brain. It’s not about religion. Those sexual acts are obviously transgressive and damaging to both OPs physical and mental health. Why would you encourage him to continue in that path?

    you might have ocd man.
    Obsessive–compulsive disorder
    That related to sexual idenity.
Did your depression started right after you started watch trans porn? did you watched normal porn for years but as the time past you moved to more wierd and taboo things?(you know you are not gay but your thoughts does not stopping and telling you u that you are? ) if it the case ocd can cause depression . You should speak with therapist. He or she will help you to overcome it .than quiting porn will be easier. Also its very good to speak with someone u trust about it. thanks for sharing with us , we know its hard. There is always light in the end of the tunnel!!!

Giacomo must be the kind of guy to advocate for self-acceptance of morbidly obese people because "they are foodies after all, and body shapes are fluid"

Its like anxiety problemes , it can come in many ways , and can be triggered by many things.
And its a big step from watch t-porn and sleep with trans. it can be the trigger especially if you know that is not your the real you. Its your brain after so many years of fmo(dofomine). there are some very beautiful trans girls i am sure of it , especially in the porn industry , like every normal porn star look 10:10 lol
but did you watched normal porn before you moved to transgendered person or such?
And as said before you tried to expirence somthing new and its ok man dont take it to the wrong places. Try to go to therapist that will help you with the depression, it will help you clear your mind and understand who u are and what you want.
Feel free to ask me anything

Bro I definitely agree that one should accept same sex attraction. But right now OP has no sexuality - porn has screwed it over. He needs to do a 90-day NoFap streak and get the effects of porn off of his brain. Only then can he understand his true identity. Like I watched trans and sissy porn for a couple years and I've experienced sexual arousal to imagining a feminine version of myself. Does this mean that I'm trans? I doubt it. But at this point I can't say anything about that. I need to first get to that 90 days, and only then will I make a decision on my identity.

When modernstore99 refers to the 'lizard brain', he is talking about the brain stem, which consists of the midbrain, medulla, pons, and cerebellum. Reptiles only possess a brainstem, while mammals, humans among them, have much larger and complex brains. Our brains have frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital cortexes that are a distinctive feature of more complex organisms. And yes you were correct, modernstore is referring to evolutionary psychology. As he says, he is dumbing stuff down because he is appealing to a wider audience.
Personally, I can conclude that high speed internet porn is an abnormal sexual stimuli because it contains an overload of sexual content at our fingertips, which, unless you were a king or sultan of old, you did not have access to before the 21st century.

Hey you depressed guys, if you have tried on your own to change and improve your life and still feel sad and depressed then I suggest you go to a psychologist and see if they can help you. Dont spend 5 years in a crippling depression and waste so much of your life. Life is too short for that. I myself am starting with a therapist on Monday. I didnt want to spend the money and tried to do it on my own but it didnt work. And Im not talking about medication, I mean talk-therapy.

Agreed, people that dont treat their depression/anxiety usually turn to alcoholism and drug addiction or suicide. That is the end result of untreated depression.
