  3. Hardly a good day yesterday as I had a reset (I don't have a counter for the moment and won't until I start to stick some days together). However, again, I still managed to do my disciplines, only the second time during a relapse, and that's a big plus.

So everything ticks up by one:

    Meditation - 10/21
    Exercise - 10/21
    Self-improvement - 23/42
    Walking - 15/21
    NoFap help - 0/21

Have good days everyone, hope you get your stuff done.

I like your spreadsheet @iHappy - that's quite a lot you're taking on, well done! I love the idea that you're committing to helping at least one person here each day. I will do that too. I use this site too much to be honest and I have a regular set of journals in my age group that I follow and interact with, but I'll make an effort from today to go and put a helpful comment somewhere else - I know how much these things have meant to me in the past.

I love your (previous record things) stealing it

    @Cleaning Colin
    Thank you :)
The support makes all the difference and it puts me on a right track.
Knowing that there are more people dealing with the same stuff helps a lot.

    Here is today's report
    [IMG]

-I expected cold shower to be challenging because there is a huge temperature difference. Yesterday it was 32 degrees celsius and today is only 13 C.
But it wasn't. Even the anticipation part was ok.
In the past 40 days or so I've take cold showers most of the time, I did not skip more than a 7 that is for sure.
-Another failure when it comes to intermittent fasting... it is really difficult to get the momentum going.

Carefully, but steadily it appears that I'm getting back on track. If nothing dramatic happens the next few days I might start thinking of adding new habits to this list.

  7. 1/21 spiritual study
    1/21 pool swimming
    1/21 prayer/ meditation

Nothing overly important to report. Certainly not the best study session I have ever had. And I write up later than normal this morning my swim was of as well. Overall there is room for improvement, but I did it!

On another note I have also decided to add positive vocal recitations. Reciting out loud phrases like "I am strong, I am confident, I am capable" I have been told this is a good exercise to build strength early in the morning, and during moments of weakness through the day.
    In that spirit

    1/21 positive vocal recitations

    Buddhist teaching's :)

Actually I am not so sure about that. Those are positive affirmation.
I am listening to the audio book "The Confidence Gap" and of the things that doesn't work are affirmations. According to the author there was a research about this stuff, I don't recall exact year, but in that research it has been proven that affirmation are not that great. Actually, they make people feel even worse.

Do some research if you are interested, I don't really know :)
Just sharing what I heard few hours ago. I think it is worth checking :)

If you find them useful and they are working for you, go ahead :)

  12. Came across some unforeseen snags today, just realized my Saturday Sunday scheduel will not allow for swimming in the morning. Saturday I will experiment with, see if I can squeeze it in, Sunday will be a no go, which is fine, I hear a day of rest is recommended with excersise schedules. However just because I realized with current scheduel I couldn't go swimming didn't i was going to anyways. Today was a reset across the board, not tthatI won't engage in spiritual study or prayer. I will, but that is not the habit I am planning on building. I want a habit of doing these things, not simply doing them so I can say I did it at some point today.

There is a huge change of skipping today's yoga practice and maybe even putting it on hold. My knee hurts.

I have to admit that my meditation sessions aren't going really the way I hoped they would (even though today was an exception). I am still struggling to a certain point, but I hope that with time passing quantity will eventually develop into quality.

As a brief update to this, I have continued my Spanish studies and it looks like it will become a longer term habit. I started Rosetta Stone this week and have also started working a bit on grammar and doing some outside Spanish reading/translation as time allows.

Still haven't added any additional challenges to it yet!

When I am at school it is easy to wake up and do my Bible study first thing before class, but during the summers it is harder to have this schedule. I need to prioritize this discipline during the coming days.
