So, i master bated ( no porn) but I still did it.

I thought I would never start again. It's been 65 days...now I got to start ALLLLL OVER.

Idk, i just feel so depressed. I was so proud of myself, and , now this happens.

For all those people that got passed 65 days ( or anyone actually) what did you replace fapping with?

I went 94 days and relapsed bro.. don't be too depressed.. it could be a lot worse.. write a commitment not to look at anything on the internet that could trigger an urge (there is a LOT of things ). Since there is a lot of total bs on YouTube Facebook etc. I would WRITE down a commitment to only use the web to look something important up and that thing only. And nofap. I relapsed the other day to videos on YouTube that were like porn in disguise. ( girls in yoga pants twerking and what not) DO NOT LOOK THAT UP! I've been battling this for almost two years now.. if I can endure .. you can too! Don't give up bro.

Hey man. I feel like there doesn't need to be this "burden of failure" here. You had a huge stride of 65 F'ing day! That's a great friggen job. You aren't starting over. You are starting a second inning of the ball game. You know what it takes now. You understand the trials you had to go through and this next inning will be no different. You know what the triggers are. Each time you have a set back, it's another chance to succeed. Don't give up. Don't look at it like a failure. You are here to succeed.

"Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely."
    ~ Henry Ford

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
    ~ Thomas Alva Edison

"Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm."
    ~ Sir Winston Churchill

"There is no failure except in no longer trying. "
    ~ Elbert Hubbard

"Winners lose more than losers. They win and lose more than losers, because they stay in the game. "
    ~ Terry Paulson

"Failure doesn't mean you are a failure...it just means you haven't succeeded yet. "
    ~ Robert Schuller

"Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success. "
    ~ Napoleon Hill

"The only time you don't fail is the last time you try anything - and it works. "

Dude. This is not a failure. It's not about streaks or how many days you lasted without masturbating.
    Get rid of your counter.

It's about how you are improving your life by focusing on other goals...in addition to Nofap.

As long as people don't understand that...they will stay trapped in that vicious cycle of relapsing and "starting over" for years and years. Forever even.
Maybe most people on Nofap are a little too young...and don't have that higher consciousness yet. But it's important to understand this.

Quitting porn and masturbation won't magically make your life amazing. It won't do shit if you are not trying to improve the other areas of your life.

You might think, "Once I get to XXX days without porn, I can start focusing on improving my life..I will feel so much better by then, I will have the strenght and confidence to do it" but that's not how it works.

You HAVE to have other goals. For exemple, get ripped, learn how to play guitar or WHATEVER...just find other goals in your life that will take your mind off of porn and nofap.

It won't matter if you relapse as long as you are working hard on achieving these goals and sticking to your new daily positive routines.

I didn't replace fapping with anything. Fapping was stopping me living. I had a life I was meant to be getting on with and fapping was stealing part of that life. When I stop fapping I start living my whole life again.

65 days! Damn! that is a good run. Make sure you keep coming back to nofap. Keep reading. Keep writing. look at your life, what you do, If you feel like doing more then make that change. Making changes takes effort and control and concentration, but the rewards are great. And the more times you face change the easier it gets.

You should be proud of 65 days. But now you know that with pride can come over-confidence.

    Keep going!

    Good luck!

Dont feel bad about your self bro. Accept it and forgive it and start again. The cure process cannot be stopped from one relapse. Win the war. Dont pay too much attention to the fights.

I disagree slightly with the attitude that you SHOULDN'T feel bad when you relapse. I think you very well should feel bad. It's not a good thing. It IS failure. Now this isn't to say you should give up. You cant wallow in self pity forever. Get up and keep going. Remember this feeling, use it as motivation to stay clean. You don't wanna feel depressed right? Don't take relapse lightly. Give it gravity and you will be less likely to relapse.

I agree! But then I am my greatest critic and when I screw up I know I am to blame.
Not so sure about this. It's not failure for me. It is making a mistake. Everyone can make a mistake. But you shouldn't let a mistake hold you back. And you should always learn from it. Which is what you go on to say
If you relapse you need your ass kicked. Better to kick your own ass before someone else does it :p

Keep going no_hentai! Keep learning! Keep fighting!

    Good luck!

Failure is defined as not reaching a goal. He set a goal of never relapsing, and he failed. But like we both said, failure isn't permanent. I've probably relapsed more then anyone here. All I'm saying is that we can't take it too lightly, then we are teaching ourselves to relapse easier.

Yeap dont get me wrong. I also find it a bad thing. But blaming your self for doing it its not good as well. You should get up on your feet and try again ;)

I only have 40 days. Reading about your relapse is powerful stuff to me. Reminds me that this addiction is cunning. I have to stay on guard. Thanks for your honesty and your post. If you made it to 65 days you know what you need to do. Good luck brother.

I totally disagree with the use of the word "failure". For me personally I think it is harsh, disciplinarian and quite legalistic. We do have different perspectives and backgrounds here and I do respect each opinion. Some of us here are religious or may have philosophies that don't tolerate mistakes. I see recovery as running a marathon. So, failure is only if you drop out of the race. If you stumble and fall, it is not failure, it's simply a fall. You have stumbled and not failed.

So, get back and keep moving. You will not be starting from day one, you have already banked 65 days. You will be starting from day 65, even if the counter says otherwise. Do not worry about what the counter says or the hidden competitive spirit that may creep in when you look at other people's.

Remember, you may not be where you want to be, but you are not where you used to be. It's about progress, not perfection

Actally thinking about your case I think that you are only progressing. There was one time in your life where you fapped like everyday and now your new problem is that you fapped after 65 days! Keep going on brother stay away from PMO, clean your body and your mind and you will be a normal healthy love enjoying human being again.

Hey there no_hentai. I understand how you feel. Your post is honest and real. Just went through a recent relapse myself. But I decided to pick up the pieces, forgive myself, and move forward again. Not all is lost. You have reached 65 days, which is an achievement, although I know the following day wasn't the way how you want it to continue. Forgive yourself, you have to.

Our fellow fapstronauts here have a variety of responses. Some of the comments here might come in strong. Some of them comforting and inspiring. But all of it is real. We failed ourselves. Our relapse is a sign of failure. It's okay to feel sad and frustrated about it. BUT...

We have the choice to get back up and move on. Sulking will not help. It just adds insult to injury. Sulking will only hold you back from your true goal.

Like I said, forgive yourself. Being on this challenge is a big commitment on our part. We slip up, and if we don't forgive ourselves, we deny ourselves healing.

Pick up the pieces and learn the lesson. It should be a reminder that we have to be proactive and not complacent when it comes to our nofap commitment. It's making a choice not to act upon the triggers and urges we're facing. This applies no matter what number of days we are trying to achieve. You'll come back stronger and better.

All of the posts here are very real and have truth in them. But one statement strikes me the most.
To answer your question, fapping was replaced by so many things. I made a commitment to get fit and physically active (which was and is amazing). I reconnected with myself, faced the personal demons rather than running away from it. I'm learning more about my spirituality and the morals I stand for. I'm more into productive hobbies.

You are not alone on this journey. It's a continuous process of self-discovery and improvement. This is probably one of the best online communities to belong to. Everyone has a story to share and a lesson to learn from.

Continue on - don't let anything hold you back.
