I'm wondering if there are any other ADD or ADHD types in here who are struggling with porn and masturbation addiction? I've read a variety of articles which suggest that ADD individuals can sometimes be more inclined toward addictive tendencies than others.

I didn't get officially screened and diagnosed with ADD until 2010 at which time, I was prescribed Adderall as a treatment.

I'm not blaming the prescription for becoming a porn addict, I know now that I already was one before I was ever diagnosed and I will say that the Adderall did seem to help with my concentration and focus but I believe it sent my desire to PMO off the scale. I used to masturbate and look at porn a lot but I don't think I ever used to PMO DAILY before the Adderall.

Plus, as I've written in other posts and journal entries, I began to seek out other forms of acting out such as going to massage parlors and even hooking up with a couple of escorts, and as I recently began to take inventory of my behaviors, I realized that my escalation into encounters with other women coincided when I began taking the Adderall. I know prior to that I never would have dreamed of doing anything with other women.

I have recently stopped taking it for a while, just to see the result and I've found that my need to masturbate or look at porn, at least for the moment, has completely bottomed-out, which seems to lend some weight to my theory so far. On the flip side, I'm also very tired all the time, I think my system is just trying to adjust to flushing the stuff out.

I'm wondering if there are any others here that are taking Adderall or some other ADD medication who have found an increase in their PMO behaviors.

It's highly possible since adderall increases dopamine activity in the brain and one of dopamine's several functions in the brain involves sexual arousal. You might get decent answers here but I think googling it would be more helpful just be careful what you type into that search (avoid triggers).

I've heard of people that do crystal meth(amphetamine) and just whack it all day. Adderall is also an amphetamine, although obviously safer.

I don't know what you're going through but it sounds like you need to channel your attention into other aspects of your life, which of course sounds easier said than done but it is a hell of a lot easier to fight PMO cravings when you're busy or preoccupied rather than sitting around hoping you don't relapse.

If you abruptly stopped taking adderall after being on it for a while it's more likely that your body is adjusting to NOT having it --- which leads to lower dopamine levels than before and lower sex drive.

I've been on ritalin and concerta for three years and while it helped me with my studies and many other aspects of my life it really triggers my sexual desires and i feel i cant control it. With ritalin in my system i can edge like 4 hours , something i would never did before. I still got the same kink, i have posted a thread about it before.

I think that PMO addiction is a cause of ADD and ADHD. I'd be curious if someone with a PMO addiction would still have any symptoms of ADD or ADHD after 90 days of abstaining from PMO.

That is totally wrong. Adhd occurs in early childhood and has nothing to do with anything of what you are speaking about. Im still very curious about this thread though.

I don't mean in children, I think that ADHD can be diagnosed in adults too? While there may be many causes, I think that PMO addiction may cause it in some persons, eg if someone is a late teen who already has a PMO addiction and then is diagnosed with ADHD.

This thread is about the medication used to treat Adhd. Not the disorder itself. Is someone having the same experience as me and the author of the thread? Would love to discuss.

i used to sniff ritalin, and it made me horny as hell
Can imagine it would be make it harder if you are precribed to this medication, altho i bet euphoric effects and stimulation are lower in a regulated, oral dose.

    Hi All-
I went thru a challenging year where I snorted prescription Ritalin. During that time, PMO took a powerful hold of my brain. It really seemed the PMO carried this magical pull for me when I was on the drug that it simply didn't have when I was off the drug. Clearly there was a connection between the two. I eventually attended a rehab program to stop the drug abuse but my brain was still wired for PMO, and it was affecting my relationship with my girlfriend: ED, lack of emotional connection during sex, etc. Discovering this group helped me address the PMO addiction and I currently am in the midst of a 45 day PMO free run. For me I had to take it in steps, but the Ritalin clearly seemed to make my brain hungry for the PMO cycle.
Just wanted to share my experiences. Feel free to contact me directly if needed. :)
