Thank you all my brothers. One of the important things I have noticed to help stay off porn for good is to cut as much as possible the social media, and stay as busy as you can with real life. Get out of the house as much as you can, read as much as you can, stay active as much as you can. Only times I would say one should turn on their computer is when they need NoFap because of urges or because they found a way that can help those who are struggling.

    1) Recognize the many benefits quitting porn and masturbation for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and so on.

    2) You must recognize what triggered you to watch porn and masturbate in the past. There are many reasons, but most of them can be boredom, anxiety, single life, self esteem issues, painful memories, depression, desires and cravings. You have to take a deep look at yourself without shame and without being too hard on yourself. We all had flaws and dark reasons for having this addiction.

    3) The first benefit that you acquire when you quit P.M.O. is time and energy. Every day you do not watch porn or masturbate, you have time to read good books. Books on meditation and mindfulness can help you fight the urges and cravings. If you believe in God, prayer can help you staying focus. Workout because you will have more testosterone and energy. See friends, practice a hobby. Just keep yourself busy.

    4) The first days, you will have urges, might have trouble sleeping. This is normal. The first seven days are the hardest (no pun intended) but they will pass.

    5) Cold showers.

    6) If you are tempted to watch porn and look at sexy women on the Internet. Google pictures of puppies, the urge will pass afterwards.

    7) Study the art of manliness online. This will help you to be a better man and attract real women.

    8) Walk outside. Walking does a lot of good. Do it for an hour, you will feel good. Running is good too. Hiking in the mountains and being in nature is a great place.

    9) Porn should not be viewed as a seductive mistress, but as something vile , repulsive and disgusting. Think of the thing you hate the most in this world and compare it to porn, as something you treat with contempt. Also, porn is not real and not the true definition of a sexual relationship. Most of it is fake acting, and women who do love sex do not like the degrading stuff they do to women on porn.

    10) You will have good days and you will have tough days. The urges never go away, but that is not a bad thing, with time you will be aware they just come and go. Also, it is natural to find women sexually attractive and desirable. But instead of using that time and energy into fantasizing

    11) When tempted, read NoFap. Many here have accomplished great things, and can be true inspiration here. Some might be able to give you other advise as well.

    I hope this helps
Inspiron123456789 and wish you a great success in the beginning of your journey.

  7. This is honestly the most inspiring, honest, and invigorating post I have read on the forums so far. SO many of the things you talk about I have experienced in my own life as a slave of PMO. Also so many of the positive things you are talking about I am beginning to see glimmers of as I push on. Self development and becoming a stronger version of myself has been hugely important to me since my life essentially fell apart in 2012. I had a beautiful girlfriend, who is also the mother of my child, leave me in a horrible way. I reacted poorly and was too undeveloped mentally and emotionally to deal with it in a healthy way. My pride blinded me from doing self awareness exercises and really taking an introspective, objective look at why all this evil was happening to me in the first place.

It wasn't until about 2014 when things began to turn around for me after I became a Christian. Since then I have been trying to embark on my hero's journey and become a man. Self awareness is SO huge to beginning to weed out the pathologies in our lives and develop healthy routines and hobbies. Thankfully, over time things are actually getting better. I still have tons of bad, and unproductive days, but I am slowly making progress and getting more and more consistent.

It wasn't until I began to weed out other pathologies and vices in my life through discipline, wisdom, and self awareness that I began to realize how dramatically PMO was negatively impacting my life. This is one of the of the last major bastions of vice in my life I need to get rid of. I must get rid of PMO. It's imperative to my mission and my journey as a man. I must gain self control over my life. I must go on to become the strongest version of myself.

You're right about everything you said, your insights are incredibly profound and I'm really grateful for this HQ post. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this.

Thank you for your testimony struggleisreal . I can relate to your pain, for I fell in love with a beautiful woman too, and when the relationship ended, that is when my P.M.O addiction was at it's worst point. It took me 15 months to realize that porn and masturbation were not helping me to move on with life, but kept me attached to my ex girlfriend and the past. That is when I decided to join NoFap 2 months ago and this site really help me to improve my view on life. Faith in God is powerful in helping us overcome this addiction, this sin, this waste of time and energy we invested in this vile recreation we call P.M.O. And the good Lord does hear our prayers which I always give thanks to Him. Be we also must remember that the good Lord gave us a brain and we should make good use of it. We should not use our brain and mind for sexual fantasies while caressing ourselves till we ejaculate. That is a loss of time and energy that could be used for better purposes, making ourselves better men, more self sufficient, more confident and less dependent.

I am happy to know you have had the insight, the wisdom, an inner strength to be conscious of yourself and your surroundings, knowing thyself helps understand what triggers the urges and knowledge helps us to overcome the urges and not relapse. God bless you struggleisreal , you are on the right path.

Well that was too fast recovery! I'm on day 40 but have only experienced half of your superpowers. Looks like I'm too much young to have a real man's testosterone powers .

The results can vary from one individual to another, also depending if you started P.M.O. at a very young age. I would say my testosterone level has dropped now that I'm over 60 days. But that is also due to the fact that I have not hit the gym for over 6 weeks and eating crappy. Again one of the benefits, and not superpowers, is you become more self aware of who you are and how your environment influences you.

Well 67 days, and now I'm on a reset. It was not porn that was the cause, yet I decided to M.O. because for the next 4 months, I will not be on NoFap due to school. Today is my last day off and my last entry on NoFap for a while. But I will be back in four months, and probably will hit 120 days, hopefully :)

  14. Do you think nofap helps a person become more aware of social cues or a persons “vibe”?

Also, do you think all addicts have these problems or gain these benefits when they “abstain” from their “drug” of choice?
