Are weekends a particularly vulnerable time?

    Every Monday I come back to NoFap and it breaks my heart to read post after post from people who relapsed over the weekend. I know people relapse during the week and statistically, by treating Saturday and Sunday as a single entity it isn't surprising that there are more posts at the end of the weekend.

    But, I do think the weekend is a particularly vulnerable time. It is when our routine changes. Our days are freer. Our nights are more liberated. We are likely to be enjoying ourselves more, drinking more, staying up later, being out with people more or wishing we were. It is the time of relaxation and enjoyment. To me the weekend represents the perfect storm for a relapse.

    I would recommend that people beware of the weekends. With that lack of structure it is easier to forget those PMO-denying strategies. If that is the case then weekends are a trigger. Recognise it. Remember it. Find solutions to it. Act on those solutions.

    If you relapsed over the weekend then you are a hero for coming back to NoFap and reading this. Keep going. Re-examine what you do to stay clean. Rewrite that list of triggers. Find new solutions. Reset the counter and remember that you are STILL on the road to recovery. That road doesn't have numbers attached to it, it just goes in one direction. Forwards. Maybe upwards too. So maybe 2 directions.

    Very true. I always loathe Saturday mornings because those are particularly vulnerable times for me.

    For me the weekends are not that difficult, because I'm married and, my wife don't know about my addiction to porn, so on the weekends I don't even think about it. The most difficult day on the week for me is wednesday because this is my home office day and, that's when I feel the worst urges, because I spend the whole day alone at home using the computer.

    The biggest trigger for me is to be using the computer alone at home and, start to feel bored.
    If my wife is not at home on the weekend it can happen anyway, but how she always are, she end up helping me to keep on track even without knowing...
