    Hello!

I feel my short term memory is bad. Sometimes i have difficulties to concentrate.

IS that dementia or a typical withdrawal symtom?

When i was fapping, i felt like i "filled up" energy into my brain, including ability to concentrate and memory skills. A physical energy rush. After quitting porn i don't have that energy source anymore.

    regards

    mdz,
I experienced just the opposite. When I PMO'd I'd edge for 1 1/2 to 2 hours before O and then I'd get really foggy and very sleepy. I never used drugs so I don't know the effect but I'd compare it to what a movie actors reaction to shooting up and that rush he gets right after the injection. It would take me at least an hour before the fog cleared and my thinking process approached normal. I really didn't know what was causing that feeling but I now know it was a huge dopamine rush at the moment of O. Damn I liked that feeling. Now that I understand it I don't want that rush. I've viewed porn and MO'd once in the last 10 days and my memory seems to be improving and the fog, at this point is gone. It's only going to get better.

You need to get about 30 days porn free, and I mean free, completely getting it out of your head, your brain, your life. At the height of my addiction, I had to have porn in the morning with my coffee just to wake up, or so I thought. Pathetic and laughable, yes, but there it is. You need to get your dopamine levels back to normal. Once that happens that brain fog goes away.

    Peace.

I should clarify normal as what I perceived as normal thinking process. I didn't realize that what I perceived as a normal thinking process was a brain on dopamine. I don't have a clue what normal is and probably won't until I've been PMO free for 90 days.

The first couple of weeks after I quit, I really couldn't focus all that well on work, and I've seen people talk about memory improving once they're through the withdrawal phase.

You are experiencing something normal for most guys. You don't know how much your brain depends on the rush and dopamine. It's as addictive as cocaine or heroine. The withdraws will vary from person to person. I felt clear at first, probably excitement from my new journey, to fog and sleepiness, and now 25 days in, I am feeling so much clarity in my brain.

Educate yourself on P addiction and withdrawal. It will help you know how it works and understand it, which will help you a lot.

Good luck and remember it's a journey, not a sprint.

Day 5 for me. Been dragging butt all day. Serious brain fog, I've felt sleepy all day and getting real intense pressure in the prostate. I'm just starting to feel the withdrawal symptoms. Before I found this site I would not have known what to expect and would have failed again for about the hundredth time. Now that I know what to expect the journey to being PMO free is beginning to get exciting. I look forward to it. Bring it on!
