Hi guys, Imam trying for a long time to kill my PMO addiction.
I hate it, really a lot. I wished I woul never had internet as a kid, and that my father would have protected and tought me how bad that is.

Sooo my problem is, i relapse, then change my life, to not relapse, or less relapse.
I don‘t have a tv, a computer, a smartphone, and now i won‘t play games on a computer of friends, where I visit them, cause it all lead to relapse.

I hate it, but I can‘t say no when i have one of these devises.

When i reached 90 days, or can I ever get back the control? To live with these devices without giving in to PMO?

    best regards,

    thx for reading,

    your Jonny

You can. Porn simply stops being interesting after certain amount of time. I stop being drawn to porn around 5-6 months of monk mode. But that's just me, everyone is different. with that being said, 90 days is definitely not enough to stop having PMO cravings.

Interesting point. This is very good news for me lol, as at times i thought i'd always have to live without much internet access if i wanted to stay PMO free. I can control myself 99.9% of the time even with these temptations, but the 0.1% i cant is what causes relapse. I am already starting to find nofap slightly easier but its kinda random at the moment. Im really hoping I get to a moment of realisation. until then Ima keep on trucking

Thx a lot for this answer.
I really want to be able to use internet devises without huge urges coming up.
Really, my heart starts beating faster, when I know, I can watch porn.

when I don‘t have the chance, it is like there is no urges.

Yeh exactly the same for me.

This article has really helped me stay completely perfectly clean for the past 3 weeks and I have no intention of going back.

    https://www.mywealthshop.com/withdrawal-symptoms-of-nofap-things-to-expect

A lot of the feelings I had in previous 'nofap attempts' had been Hopelessness, depression, anxiety, and extreme urges. After I read that article, I finally realised that these emotions weren't real. They weren't actually me feeling them. They are simply withdrawals, my brain resisting the change. Every single one of these emotions will come and go, and eventually disappear.

This helped me everytime i felt desperate, because i knew nofap is working.

So the question is, when will you/someone be fully recovered? If you have to ask probably aren't yet.

Also remember the 'you' that's recovered will be a very different you from the person you are now.

In 2016, I reached a NoFap streak of 142 days, then I relapsed and have since struggled with getting into any long streaks. You don't want to underestimate the risk of falling back into former, destructive habits.

That said, living forever without a computer and smartphone in today's society doesn't seem maintainable in the long run. You have to learn to use those devices in a constructive and non-harmful way. Taking a break from devices can be a good idea, be careful when you're reintroducing them. Write down some rules about how you should not use those devices, and always have a good intention when using them.

Ok, thank you for that one too, so it means, when I AM fully recovered, then I know if I can change my life, or not.

You can *always* change your life, fully recovered just means there's been enough long term change to be a different life. Even before though everything you change matters and is a step towards that ultimate destination.

I heard somewhere that after 30 days of doing something consistently, your brain creates a whole new neural link to that activity. After 90 days, that neural pathway becomes part of you. I think once I get to 90 days I am going to vow to myself never to look at porn again, as I have heard so many people going without PMO for 4-5 months and slipping back into it. But I've gone through so much pain and desperation to quit this addiction that I will be clean.
The reason for having to wait 90 days for that is because In the past i have vowed from day 0 and it adds a lot of pressure and anxiety to me when I should be taking it day by day.

  13. I've been in withdrawals flatline for a year now. And I still use my phone where I used to pmo for 7 years. I train myself to do it as I used to be afraid of failing. It took me a lot of trials and errors before being able to succeed.
