I've tried for over a decade to recover from PIED, but I always relapse. My longest streak is 7 months, but I need at least 1.5 - 2 years for a full recovery. I've tried all the usual recommendations: exercise, diet, hobbies, outdoors, therapy, etc.
I'm at the point where I'm desperate for a solution. I'm in my 30s now.
I've heard that Naltrexone is prescribed to alcoholics, drug and sex addicts and that it has high rates of success in keeping users sober. Apparently it works by blocking dopamine from reaching the receptors.
I'm thinking of using it as a tool in my recovery.
Can Naltrexone actually help me? Is it an effective tool in the recovery process?
