Hello everyone.. I just signed up tonight. I was wondering if crossdressing is harmful to me. As a kid I used to crossdress because it made me happy but over time I've become addicted to the sissy fetish. Is there a way to go back to the times when I was a kid when I crossdressed because it was fun rather than turning me on? I'm wondering if crossdressing can be "performed" without any desire after watching sissification. If it isn't then I better sell my clothes. I'm glad I haven't acted upon these urges with other people.. I just want out of this fetish

Man that's so awesome you here then. If you want out the you can. We all here want out. So on that we all agree, so do alot of research on that particular topic and here is the place. And yes.... If you stop watching porn crap. You're brain eventually get fix up. You will still have some memories but in all the research I have done and other people with alot more experience than me say that in about four months the brain gets detox from all that nasty poison we putting in. Get a plan in place and try to talk with alot of people here. This is a amazing community

Thank you :) problem is I did do research on if I can crossdress without having urges, and people online said of course. But I am worried that the crossdressing will be a susbsitute for porn. Is crossdressing a subsitute for porn or it depends on how I see it? I just want to have fun with this experience instead of making it a dirty thing.

  7. Hi. Welcome to forum!

Make sure you create a personal journal thread in Reboot Logs section and blog there on a regular basis. As well as just generally be active participant in various forum discussions. I recommend this to everybody new here because it's the major thing that helped me when I was first starting. Just lurking on forums, reading and learning is great. But it usually is so much more powerful to engage. It helps to keep us motivated and accountable when we are active part of community. And keeps this in front of our minds so we don't forget about importance of it and slip away in our old habits. Sharing is also therapeutic. This is a major reason why AA meetings work so good. But that was developed before internet era. These days we can get most of the same benefits online through communities like this. So don't underestimate the power of active participation.

I would also like to suggest you to look into mindfulness meditation. It has helped me personally tremendously to learn how to deal with urges and triggers. It takes a while to get good at it and notice results, so you need to be consistent with it, but once you do it's very powerful. It has been used by sages for thousands of years to deal with various issues of the mind. And in recent decades the science is also catching up to what ancient sages have know for centuries. Meditation these days are widely used as very effective tool by psychologists for treating addiction and by neurologists for supporting recovery of the brain. It is a great exercise for the brain the same way as jogging is great exercise for the body. Check out this Ted talk, it gives a good idea of what's it about when it comes to philosophy. As far as practical side of it there is this awesome smartphone app called Headspace for guided meditations to get you started.

As far as your question, yes you can crossdress for fun. I believe LGBT people call it "drag" and straight people supposedly can do it too, even some females supposedly do it. I'm not an expert on it but I know a lot of people are enjoying it without it being sexual fetish. And many do it proudly in public.

I do not believe there is fundamentally anything wrong with it. Porn is poison for mind. And sometimes it can mess up your brain in such a way that it creates fetishes. Rebooting will get rid of them. But there are fetishes that people like even when they are fully rebooted. There is nothing wrong with enjoying sexual fantasies and sexual play. As long as you you know it is coming from healthy place in your own mind and not porn.

If you do not want to be turned on by it you have to disassociate this activity from sexuality. Obvious first thing is to fully reboot from porn. Stop watching CD porn and fantasizing about it sexually. That usually takes around 90 days, assuming you do it in a way we here call "Hard Mode reboot". Then, if you still feel desire to crossfires, start doing it. But make sure you do not have sex or masturbate, or have sexual fantasies, while doing it. Make sure your brain does not associate it with sexuality.

Wish you lot's of strength and success in your reboot journey!

While you are stopping PMO and rebooting, maybe try stopping the cross-dressing as well temporarily. Once your done with your 90 day reboot, then try going back to cross-dressing without P. This is just my opinion though
