Do many of the women in pornography have a history of childhood sexual abuse?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by 虎穴に入らずんば虎子を得ず, Jan 13, 2017.

  1. 'Yes. It is estimated that the women in pornography are three times likelier to have been sexually abused as children than in the general population. Based on one survey of performers in the pornography industry, 37% of the women were raped as children.

Additionally, it is worth noting that women in the pornography industry are twice as likely to have grown up poor than in the general population. As research has proven that financial destitution significantly increases the likelihood of being subjected to sexual exploitation, it is no surprise that perpetrators of sexual violence, including pornographers and pimps, frequently target economically vulnerable women and children (and sometimes men).'

You are basically encouraging women with psychological traumas and disorders to fuck their minds up even more if you support porn.

You know what the past has shown about porn actresses? Maybe this video can show some history,

This is a toxic war on women (and men you could say, men are affected too in negative ways) being waged by some very wealthy, very sick, downright toxic and inhumane people. Cannot even call them people. Monsters with lots of money.

  2. 'And that's just the official figures. What about those who were raped and have never told anyone - probably a higher percentage of the population than that of reported rapes. I personally know 2 women who have been raped and never reported it, many more who have been sexually assaulted and they are just the ones who talk about it. I also wonder what the figures are for prostitutes on screen who were neglected as children or raped as adults.'

  3. And the male side, I'm not trying to say men aren't affected negatively too but the majority of porn out there involves male domination of women, it's a dehumanizing act for everyone involved including the viewer and anyone in support of it does not escape the character degrading effects.

  5. Warning this post may contain a trigger for some. Although I think for most it won't be.

A few years ago I remember watching this porn movie where the woman in the scene said her first sexual encounter was when her father molested her. I read someone in the comment section being upset at her for saying such things and they said it didn't turn them on. But when I read such comments I felt like saying that maybe for once we saw some honesty in a porn film.

But yes it causes us to view women as sexual objects. I remember when I first saw porn I was shocked at how aggressive men were to women. I remember thinking I didn't come here to see women being hurt. I just wish back then I stayed away from it, but it was like a drug that kept calling to me. But I'm going through recovery and am determined that I'll be clean no matter what it takes.

I am determined to be clean, too. Good luck to you! Porn sucks.

  7. I do apologize if anyone felt triggered. I will be more discerning with any content like this I share in the future.

These women died horrible, tragic deaths so I was thinking well why would someone not feel a sense of empathy and respect them but hey some people might react differently to the video and go searching for P after watching even though it's a 'Memorial' meant to honor these lost souls.
