Do we have any Metalheads here?? Come and say Hi!!

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by InvisibleControl, May 18, 2016.

  1. I really don't want to get into detail as that would involve talking about demonic possession and Satanic rituals, but the last binge I was on I was listening to the most extreme death metal I could find from the depths of the blackhole that is the internet. I was intoxicated and not in my right mind and I've already said way too much. I almost died, and my brain is damaged from what happened. Think what you want of this I'm not trying to say anymore about it though. Some demons we create with our own minds, some perhaps not so much. On this note I try to avoid darker bands these days with negative themed lyrics like Meshuggah and Behemoth for instance. A band just as heavy but with life affirming (even viewing death from a certain angle can be positive) lyrics is a band like Gojira for instance. Be careful what you are feeding your mind my friends. But ya I can relate to PMO leading your mind to seeking out pure evil in music.

I used to be big into viking and folk metal, Suidakra recently released a new album:

Basically an edgy way of saying "cult".

So "trve kvlt " = "true cult", which is related to black metal.

To me is exactly the opposite. Constantly pmo'ing = sissy. Rarely pmo'ing = Br00tal.

Although, independently if i PMO or not, my "music taste" doesn't change that much, but i sometimes see a slightly difference, but it's the opposite from yours.

Hello, i am into Metal, too.
But i am more on Post-Rock, Post-Metal, Post-Core such as Russian Circle, Cult of Luna, Pelican, etc.
Especially, some french metal bands who are REALLY good:

I saw these two bands in concert two weeks ago:
    - Lizzard (for those of you who love Tool and A Perfect Circle):
    https://lizzardband.bandcamp.com/

    - NAÏVE (athmospheric Metal):

Last but not least, very known: Gojira:

The big three albums which most say are the pioneers of metal are:

    1) Led Zeppelin II (1969) by Led Zeppelin;
    2) Paranoid (1970) by Black Sabbath; and
    3) In Rock (1970) by Deep Purple.

Amazing that these bands are all British.

Hey man, looks like we have similar tastes. :) I absolutely love Cult of Luna, have you hear their latest with Julie Christmas on vocals, Mariner? What about the band, The Ocean? I was so disappointed that they couldn't make it to the US this last spring because of VISA issues. I was dying to see them, but it's all good. Thoughts on ISIS? Panoticon and Oceanic are two of my favorite albums of all time and it's such a shame that they broke up.

Here's another French band you might enjoy, Erlen Meyer:
