Hello everyone. I'm 20 years old. I've been into M since I was still in elementary. I was probably 7 at that time. I didn't even know the word for it. Back then, I thought that I was the only one in the world doing it. Yeah. It's that severe.

Fast forward to the youth days, I got involved with various kinds of lust. I also did sexting and got engaged in watching porn. I confessed to the Bishop when I was interviewed for temple recommend. And the struggle of eliminating this "dirty habit" went on until 2017. I was clean off P at that time. I also got rid of M for about 5 months. That's the longest I've ever stopped in my whole life. Then I relapsed. I stop for about a month then I lapse again and again. It's depressing and disappointing but due to the good habits I've developed over time, it has helped me overcome these negative feelings. I started reading the scriptures every day. I also read conference talks at least 4 times a week. I never watched any form of porn for the last two years, until today. This incident made me create an account and write a post here. I always keep count on how many times I lapse each month. It shouldn't exceed greater than 5 times because I'll be prone to the other temptations. I kept that rule until this month. I don't know why, since I strive to value my spirituality above other things, but I got tempted real heavy this month. So, I did it a lot. I didn't feel a sense of threat until an hour ago, where I suddenly typed a query I shouldn't be searching, a video I shouldn't be watching, a sound I shouldn't be listening to. Maybe I underestimated the powers of adversary but this is what's happening to me. I lapsed in pornography after two years. Wow.
I realized that M is a great factor that will lead to watching P. That's why the Prophets have emphasized that we must be strictly keeping the law of chastity.
I also realized that having spiritual knowledge is a waste if we don't apply it. After all, applied knowledge is power. That's why implementation is important.
Also, I received a revelation that I must serve more. Service, after all, is an antidote to depression. It could also be an antidote to this sickness we're suffering from.
However, to serve is not easy because we are also against the temptation of convenience. Yeah, there's that. But as I was reading through the posts in these tags, I found out the main antidote that will cure as. It's very simple, but it's the hardest thing. And it is:
"Come, follow me," the Savior said.
Yes, we must learn to love the Savior, to obey His will, and to let the enabling power of His atonement work in our lives. Brothers and sisters, I strongly feel that this is the only way we can break this cycle: to truly love the Lord. To feel Godly sorrow everytime we relapse. And to constantly hope that we'll eventually overcome this challenge through His grace.

Your intro is interesting. I was 14 when I first started masturbating and I thought I had figured something out that no one else in the world knew about, and just like you, that ultimately led me to a porn and masturbation addiction that I have had off and on now for 19 years. Thanks for sharing your story.

Wait a minute shouldnt you say Porn has got you for 13 years yeah i read that story but you still fail
Anyway aside of your religion background i just want you know one thing “jesus loves you” jesus has forgiven all your sins past, present even future sins psalm 103:3
God doenst need your service actually not because you are UNWORTHY but you have sin consciousness in your mind you think following the lord is based on your works to “live right” and it’s not christianinty
Lemme argue with you read this by yourself
    Romans 5:19
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous”

Here it says we became sinners by one act of one man who was adam okay, you know what he did right? So in the same way jesus makes us righteous before god by his sacrifice on the cross,so i want you think right now “did you ever do a right thing to do when you were a sinner??? i am sure you did right?? But according to that scripture says you were still a sinner even if you did a right thing!!!! Now jesus has made us righteous eventhough i fail and you fail god still sees us righteous and the more we know who we are in christ and our new identity in him as a new person not as an old sinner who just got baptized, you know that you are not what you just did because you are the righteous of god in christ

I understand you feel shame, unworthy, condemned but that’s not how a christian should live

I can talk about this a lot but i reccomend you to listen to joseph prince on youtube listen to “live with the sens of god’s love” i know this is charismatic christianity but how long you want to stick to your belief and still doesnt give a result???

I have his full sermon and i can send that through email if you want

    Anyway god loves you lady
