    Rough day. Shaky ground
My struggle started last night while I was asleep. Yes. Sleeping. I had a very vivid dream of me getting oral from a chick I've always wanted to screw before I got married. I have no interest in messing around with her now. I ended up having a wet dream during it. Here is my problem.

I have been horny all day. Wanting to look at her FB just to get a glimpse of her in a bikini. I see this as a trigger. I have been able to identify most triggers and see this as part of my success. I have been able to avoid it. I just need to tell this story as a way to get this off my mind. I'm hoping this will work. I know if I start looking at bikini pics, it will lead to a reset as I don't want that. It's been hard work, many consecutive days of struggle and lots of withdrawl symptoms.

Has anyone else had this problem after a wet dream? If so, how did you handle it? How long did it last? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi WRA, as you know withdrawals don't come steady. They come in starts and stops. I got past a lot of the bad days about 30 days out, but there were still bad days here and there. You are correct, you cannot go to FB for the bikini pic. Bikini pics are just porn substitutes, and they would trigger us. For that matter a lot of participants in the porn industry have FB pages, so I have to deliberately avoid opening those pages. It's not really hard, it's not like they are FB friends, but we have to be aware those pages are there. The humility of accepting we cannot browse that is part of the price we are paying for staying clean.

Never had a wet dream but about 3 months out from quitting I did have a lurid sex dream in which I woke up humping the mattress. Now the mattress has become a major trigger and I have to sleep on the floor....OK, just kidding about that last one.

    Good luck on your journey.

    William,

Thanks for the advice and back up. It helps out more than what you realize. Knowing I'm not alone helps.

The mattress joke literally made me laugh out loud

I didn't masturbate or have sex for 7 months and near the end of the 7th month I had a wet dream after watching a scarlett johansson movie. Don't worry about it, watch out for the triggers.

Try not to give in to the urges mate. I know it's very difficult but that's how we'll get rid of this addiction. Avoid of those triggers at all costs. Stay strong!

Wet dreams are your body's healthy way of taking care of the need for ejaculation without your having to break your NoFop commitment. Sex dreams are a psychological processing as you adjust to a new lifestyle that includes a healthy relationship to sex. Most sober alcoholics have "drinking dreams," especially early in sobriety. They usually talk about how they help them to realize that's not what they want any more.
We're here for you bro. Take strength from the group and know that all these guys are pulling for you. After a wet dream night you might find that you're thinking more about sex but here's an opportunity to gently direct your thinking toward something else like learning something new, getting outside and doing something athletic, or learning a musical instrument. Never just sit around and try not to think about sex. Remember, "what we resist persists."
    March forward buddy.

    @6 Months

Thanks for the encouragement. I was wondering if the wet dream was gonna happen. What you said makes sense. The body is doing a purge. Thanks for the info

I haven't failed and believe I should be ok soon. My rough patches are getting shorter and shorter.

Hope someone else has felt the same way, but I am only a about 4 days into the challenge, has anyone else noticed that they have sort of a decrease in lust? or was this just how my body is affected by P and I will be back to wanting more sexual attention eventually?

    Tiger,

What you are feeling is natural. Your lust for digital and pixels will decrease down to nothing. Your brain will start to notice real beauty around you. You will see beautiful women and feel confident when you do. It won't be hard to smile, flirt, or be witty with them
