Nicotine, Dopamine and Porn in your teens

Wondering if part of the reason I became so hooked on porn was because of nicotine. Or more precisely, I find it conspicuous that I quit cigarettes at about the same time I had access to high speed internet and hit the porn hard.

The perfect storm scenario: nicotine artificially produces dopamine so while quitting cigarettes my body was unaccustomed to producing it without the aid of the artificial dopamine production stimulant that is nicotine. Did I turn to porn to contribute to the production of dopamine in another destructive, artificial manner as a consequence, aided by high speed internet?

To be fair, I used to wank a lot as as teenager but I think that's kind of normal and my teens were predominantly pre-internet or pre-easy access to the internet...

I suppose the good news is I've been porn and masturbation free for over three weeks now, even with access to the net and I am feeling quietly more upbeat, think less depressive shit. I wonder if my dopamine production is getting back on track without the artificial stimulation of porn and wanking. I suspect so.

But there's more to happiness than chemicals. I think the positivity and meaning of what I'm doing is having a good effect on pretty much everything. My only concern is that I still feel a bit dead down there. Not feeling randy at the moment. Not being aroused or having erections at all... Wonder what that's about.
