Please suggest ways I can make NoFap more awesome!

I agree, age and gender in the info below the username is important.

 

I think this is a great idea.

 

I think one of the great benefits of nofap is the ability to connect with people similar to yourself with similar issues and see how they are being handled. I think for some physiological as well as psychological reasons reboot seems to be different for people of different ages / genders / social situation. So I would love to see some of that data about posters. Obviously people can choose not to give the info but it could be helpful for us if we did. We might include gender, age, location, partner or not, no. of years with this problem - all of which I for one would be happy to provide.

Again - enormous thanks to Alexander for the vision and initiative to start this thing. It has changed my life.

Increase the character limit for messages in Groups.

 

How about having a leaderboard in the Stats section. The leaderboard could contain the current top 20 nofabbers based on days & hours achieved in their current challenge. You could separate the list by their age bracket / gender / and or on specific challenges (you get the idea). It might inspire nofabbers to hold on longer (excuse the pun) if they're moving up the leaderboard or to resist falling off the list. It could also inspire users to get on the board and see what is being acheived.

You could also have a thumbs up/down feature on user's posts which enables users can rate the quality of the post i.e. if 10 ppl give me 10 thumbs up and 2 ppl give thumbs down, my post will be rated as +8. You could also list the top 10/20 highest rated post in the leaderboard section. Users offcourse can only rate each post up or down once.

However site so far is excellent and well maintained - great job to guys behind the scenes !

 

Not sure about the thumbs up/down feature. Every journey is valuable, every word helps. There is no reason something would be better than another. I personally think that the option to rate threads is already too much. I agree with the leaderboard though, I'm more and more competitive, but I fear that it could discourage those we already have trouble with being competitive. Just my two cents.

 

You might ask the country of origin when a new account is created. That information would be private (it wouldn't be displayed next to the user's name), but it could serve to see statistics from the members: how many fapstronauts in the US, how many in South America, how many in Australia... Because we're already a worldwide movement.

I feel there is an additional advantage of this idea that is well worth mentioning. A section for partners would be a useful dialogue for addicts to read and learn something. I am not speaking from experience, worst luck, but I feel that it would be highly motivational for addicts to hear about the impact of their sexual addictions on their partners. For many, I am surer this would become a powerful reason to quit and to focus on the amazing joy (I assume) of having 'real' sex. C'mon Alexander - this is your thread!

 

I totally agree with the leaderboard suggestion, what a great idea. Everyone has some competitiveness in them this will bring out the best in them.

I don't know how complicated it would be to add, but I would love to see a live chat section. There is always at least a few dozen people online at all time and it might help people who feel like they need to talk to someone to overcome an urge. Talking about it on a journal or reading other people's material help but chatting live with someone might also help. Some kind of open accountability channel.

Also, it would be cool to see a list of people who reached specific goals. For exemple at the bottom of the main page you could read:

Here's a list of people who reached their goals today, feel free to PM them your congratulations. Or maybe just go with fixed periods of time, 30-60-90 days etc.

I COULDN'T AGREE MORE. Sometimes an urge is a question of a split second, and live chat would help with it. And I totally think that the second idea of supergolum would reinforce the, what are we, "fraternity"? Anyway it would be beneficial, everyone has to learn from everyone else.

 

i don't have any suggestions (I'm not very picky and this site is awesome) but i just want to say that, you, Alexander Rhodes, are the absolute best.

 

1. Chatroom.
2. The "Congratulations" section (for members that have reached 15, 30, 60, 90 days). Most of us had/are having/will have self respect worth issues; all of us need support, to be recognized in our achievements. This good bring more light to an already brilliant site.
Both sound really great ideas that should be implemented as soon as possible, specially the chatroom.
