hey, so I've already posted this once before, and the suggestions I got were useful, but now I need more help.

basically, I keep catching myself fantasising, and it's getting annoying now. its preventing me from concentrating properly, it certainly doesn't help when urges come and everything I've tried is not working.
I have been using the count to 10 method, where I just count to 10, and think of something else. it works sometimes, but I think I need a better system.

    any help?

listen to music, move around a bit, talk a brisk walk out, stay away from internet. All these and more can help.

  3. I hear you and I have been trying to practice the 3 second rule if I see something triggering, so I can look no longer than 3 seconds and fantasies are not created. That especially applies to people I find triggering. Another phrase I have heard is "Move a muscle, change a thought". Riding my bike, walking, working out, etc. all seem to work if I will do one of them and not listen to my brain trying to stop me. I also understand with practice and experience the urge will subside. This is all part of the journey that will help the rest of our lives. Thanks for reminding me how powerful this stuff is.

it certainly is powerful. it seems all day that anything that I said or someone else said, my mind turned it into something completely different. real problem, the counting thing didn't really work.
will try to do more exercise though. thanks for the suggestions.

  5. What helped me stop the fantasy, the mental porn imagery, the porn flashbacks, all that rot, was realization that none of it belonged to me. It was all implanted by continual porn use, like I had been brainwashed.

This realization made shoving the shit aside so easy for me. I refuse to be a puppet of the porn industry. Screw that. They can't control my mind. It belongs to ME.

    It's not yours, mate. It's the industry's.

    Good luck.

I found that reading a few porn star testimonies that got stuck into that nasty world for too long is shedding a new light on that industry that catters to our basic instincts helps. The porn studios are studying us males, and putting out all the genres that we can think of....most of it you'll never experince in the bedroom.
Also, realizing that fantasies, once they are fulfilled, often leave a feeling of empty-ness with a big "That was it?????".

Most fantasies you won't be able to live anyway, so porn is science fiction. And trust me, if you get a GF that treats you to everything you want, you will still end up looking at other girls, coolidge effect will takes its toll on you regardless.
You can drift in porn space for ever, looking for the next fantasy, and comparing your GF with all the actresses and always find that your GF doesnt quite cut it...so fantasies are the enemy!

Myself, when I get a though and I'm by myself, I give my head a shake, as a symbol. If I'm with people, I tell myself I'm a pig perv...then it goes away.

Or I can also, FUNNY THING, tell myself" oh she is nice looking but she got STDs...just to "cold shower" my brain...
