    Hi all,

I'm going with PMO/ hard mode on for 19 days. I "may have" ogled at women around or with PSUB a bit here and there. Is that considered as a reset, although there was no MO?

I'm putting this as a loud thought out here so that I can try and restrict those too.

    Thanks,

Your reboot is what you want to make it. I recommend creating a set of rules for your reboot and what you would consider a reboot for your journey. Then create a plan of action so when you feel triggered you can enact it immediately. This can save precious seconds. I am sure you were looking for a definitive answer, just remember this journey is what you want to make it.

  3. Looking at p/subs equates to looking at porn, ergo, you need to reset to 0. :( You may find this thread about them useful.

I didn't hunt PSUBs, I just came across a photo or two of good looking fully-clothed girls that popped up on some regular website and only later, I saw the glossary listed here having something called PSUB. I was wondering if that is what I did. I didn't know.

To clarify, are we saying that if one sees a girl's pics with great assets that pops up and the mind gets excited, but he doesn't get carried away beyond a few moments of dirty thoughts, he needs to reset? Thats the precise version of my question.

Thanks for the thread. I wrote the above and then read the thread. So I think it will be okay if I do not reset since I did not really look at PSUB as I see from the ongoing thread. It was a fully clothed girl's pic or two and the habitual mind got a few erotic thoughts, with no erection, no touching. I switched out of it as it may lead to PMO.

Thanks for that note. My rules were no PMO. I didn't know what PSUBs are and was wondering if my dirty thoughts on looking normal fully-clothed pics of a beautiful woman or two that popped up on the screen as part of some product ads counted as PSUB. Henceforth, I'll add it to the rules that I won't hunt PSUBs but if they pop-up, I'll try to avoid indulging further.

I would like to grow bit by bit into a full celibate, if possible! :)

  5. Yeah, that is fine - no issue there. We cannot cut ourselves off from society, which is very sexualised, I'm sure you'd agree!

Undoubtedly so. Currently, I am in quite a secluded place away from the crowds. In a couple months I'll be back in the sexualised city. Thats when I will need to worry more, but then I will not be alone like I am now, so there's some hope too.

I agree with Igy. In a situation like that, I wouldn't consider that a relapse. Now if you were to stop and focus and fantasize about the pic, then I would consider that a relapse. I think adding that rule to your list is a great idea.

Sure, that sounds like a good rule to add, since indulging in the thought would have the same effect as continuing to see the pic. When mind seems to follow a sexual thought, I replace it with a good thought.

Usually, as a yoga practice I know that trying to break a habitual thought is not successful unless one replaces it with another constructive thought. Each thought etches a path for the thought to flow next time; its similar to opening new channels for water to flow down the hill. Over time, the thoughts shift completely.

Quitting porn while "having nothing to do" with the huge lots of hours saved which were wasted in porn earlier, is just a trap for a trip back to porn. Constructive use of time helps. For me, being busy with study/ work and time on nofap seems to be helping. Thanks guys.

Keep up the great work. I like how you are figuring things out. Never give up and be patient. One day at a time. Stay strong!

Thanks, but unfortunately, figuring out is not difficult, but remembering it in times when the intellect is overpowered by the horny mind is difficult! :(

I agree with you. I would recommend creating a plan of action. One that you can enact immediately without thinking. As soon as you start to feel triggered, boom, your plan of action is enacted and you start following through without thinking. One of those things could be as soon as you start to recognize a feeling that starts to lead you to PMO, you immediately get up and go for a walk, or call a family member or friend on the phone, or leave the house and go to a cafe or a store and walk around. You can customize it to what you think would work best for you. You may forget to enact it, but if you keep trying I think eventually you would automatically start doing that and hopefully that would help. I hope this helps. Stay strong!

Thanks, thats what I am doing. Humans are also creatures of habit. I am slowly but steadily replacing old habits with new ones, carving out new paths for thoughts to flow. These days I prempt the thoughts by coming here on nofap and see at others' problems and check mine through answering them. That seems to be working well this far. All my time on internet is going on nofap, which is a plus I'd say. Rest of the day, I am too busy to "porn" my mind. That helps the most. Moreover, I am going through a holy month in Hinduism, so that started this good phase of 30d PMO abstinence. I need to follow it beyond. Thats where the real test begins for me.
Thanks for all the encouragement and tips.

BTW, I have a question, if you don't mind. And I do not mean anything negative. Perhaps I need to start a separate thread for it, but I keep wondering as to why the old timers here reset their counters? Is it a restart after meeting their set target or is it a relapse or something else I am missing?

It is most typical that a counter is reset after a relapse. You could reset it for other reasons as well, but relapse is usually the reason.
