Hello my dear brethrens and sistrens.

I have been on PMO for the last 17 yrs. With periods of unintentional breaks (mostly due to student and career reasons) but never an intentional one , since i never thought it was a problem. Now after entering a stage and mostly being enlightened with the demons that PMO has unleashed in my personality , i have taken a start and made it a life goal to quit. Have relapsed many times during my journey and hopefully this time im going to end it for once and for all. I am on day 34 atm .

Coming back to the subject of this Thread. As far as my research goes im suffering from a social anxiety disorder ( based on a google research) .
    1. I shake/ quiver(hands and feet) every time i get into a complicated situation like dealing with cops, getting into a fight with a friend which is not physical but a heated argument.
    2. I start shaking once i deliver a presentation or stand infront of a crowd.
    3. Inability to maint an Eye contact.
    4. In short my body responds very differently to stress and stressors which never used to be like that before when i was a school student.

There are probably many other things associated with this anxiety which i dont want to get into detail with but the long story cut short its the anxiety which is now effecting my social and professional life. I want to seek some help . But before that i am eager to do it myself rather than sitting on a chair infront of a professional.

Am i the only one who is suffering from it?
Am i correctly associating the disorder being an effect of PMO ?
Is it with in my capability to solemnly deal with it and progress towards improvement?
If i am wrong. How do you explain such a behaviour?

Looking forward for you kind and candid response.

No PMO will definetly help u... u will get more confidence to face social situation.... I can attest it.... 2 years back when i joined nofap... I was too very social anxious ... Still i am .. but it is now managable in most situation. but sometime i still feel very anxious in some situation.. but I bet.. if i we go more than 6- 8 month or even a year without no pmo straight without relapse .. it will go ... Now my focus is to go without relapsing... I wish i should have not relapsed in these 2 years .

You feel anxious when projecting your past (some negative experience, yours or sometimes just what you have heard of) on the future (imagining some negative outcome). Ask yourself - do I really know my future? And do i 100% know what is good and bad for me in longterm? If you, I hope, answers NO and NO, try to eliminate this habit little by little.

Try to live in a present moment all the time little by little, if you feel, see and listen you can’t be anxious (person can only do 3 things at the given moment), so try to concentrate on this things.

Stop PMO, video games, living in imaginary world.

    Méditation, mindfullness exercises, cold showers.

Exposure therapy (when you are ready) - do what you are fear of, give presentation, give a shitty presentation on purpose, get in a conflict on purpose and stand your ground.

It’s all in our head, imagine the worst possible outcome of a given situation and accept it, it won’t kill you if you shit your pants in front of an audience, lol, just an example.
But at the end of the day people care only about themselves

Each given moment is unique and precious, like now you are reading this text, so don’t waste it on thinking about what is gone or imagining what will probably happen.
