Hello everyone hope everyone is doing well so to recap everything I was on a wonderful streak of 61 days without an account made I relapsed then I made an account then I pretty much binged for 3 days then hit a 3 day streak then just relapsed again twice. So I’m just looking for some support and help on this matter. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting back on track and being PMO free? Thank you to anyone who reads this and responds.

Don’t look at porn and don’t let yourself get hard to porn substitutes, like bikini pictures. Keep busy doing other things, like exercising and improving yourself in various ways. If you’re not having sex, then staying away from porn and masturbation will make you hungry for sex, which will motivate you to improve. A tip for confidence that a friend gave me today was remembering that no matter who’s in your life, it doesn’t matter. People come and people go, but only you remain.

What helped during your two month streak?

And what led to the relapse?

Just don't look at pornographic material, and if you do so, hold your will to carry on the tighter as you can, defeat the PB (Porn Brain) with the other side of your brain, the one that wants to keep going.

Be busy, go read a book, take a walk, workout your body, learn how to cook or something, but find a way to keep your body and mind away from porn.

Place some goals on your life, any kind of addiction is tons easier to fight if you have a goal to reach, mine is "until i get married" and to know i'll give my wife the best of me makes me want to go futher into this.

If you ever feel like relapsing, look at a mirror and call yourself a "Weak and loser little boy" this really helps, makes you figure out how weak you are being at the moment and make you stronger.

If you ever relapse, relapse to MO, Never PMO, the P Causes the chaser effect to be bigger and unbearable. But the most important tip: "Live every new day of victory, it is great not to relapse."

How is your stress in your life?
I know back in my college days when I feel stressed or have problems in life I resort to P. It was my coping mechanism. I put $5 in a clear bottle and I tell myself I cannot spend it. $5 as a college student is alot of money. I got so tired of eating them 2 tacos for $1 at Jack in the Box because I had no money, that I had to change the way I coped with stress. I am much better now though.

I agree with a lot of the opinions on this thread if you care too much about the counter rather than focusing on the problem at hand. When you care about the counter it becomes difficult and takes away from recovering especially when you "lose a streak" it's very daunting coming back. I would say the thing that helps the most is focus day by day and if your quiting porn realize that it's a choice and that you CHOOSE to do it not someone else.

  10. You do it One Day At A Time.

If you have to, 1 hour at a time.

After the first few days, it does get easier. During that period you're fighting the Chaser Effect.

If you keep taking care of the short goals, the long goals take care of themselves.

This guy - who currently has 129 days - says it better. Maybe it will work for you? Worth a try, I think

Hello sir thank you for your response, that is true that I wasn’t counting any days. I’ll try not to count I think my issue is that my first high “streak” I was worrying so much about benefits thinking that as soon as I get to a day. I’ll be unstoppable and be able to do anything which is true somewhat. But you still gotta keep going and actually do what you want to actually really see the benefits.

One suggestion i have is to read and educate yourself. i would start on yourbrainonporn.com since its the best info for free thats out there, but if youre interested in some books, i HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHKY suggest breaking the cycle by george collins and recovery by russel brand

Hello sir thanks for your response, I think what helped me the most at the start was to just stay busy and try my best to not think about it. After about 2 weeks the thought of being on a decent streak was keeping me going also with keeping busy. After about a month I was pretty good for the most part if I remember correctly and if I did have an urge I would just say I’m doing so well right now and I can’t give this up which helped. The main reason I gave in was cause I saw some pretty triggering content then the urges just got more and more and then the dumb desisions kept increasing and then yeah.

Hello sir thanks for your response, that does make sense to destroy the PB which I started doing until I made some dumb decisions. I was also pretty much trying to stay busy until around a month and that’s when I started to get a bit cocky and started risking stuff with sitting around and being bored and stuff. So now I know for this upcoming one to stay strong and try to stay busy no matter what. I also do have some goals which I plan to hit eventually which one of them is waiting until I get a gf. Which I still plan to do actually. Also thank you for the tip I’ll try that sometime if needed. And alright it definitely makes sense to not go all out to PMO and if I do fail just MO. Finally yes that is a good quote to live by thanks I’m gonna save it.

Hello sir thanks for the response, I think I definitely have some stress on me. I think I have some form of anxiety and I plan on getting on the football team nest school year and getting a job this summer and possibly get a drivers license. Also with the added bonus of wanting a gf and being pretty shy and the added thing of anxiety doesn’t help. So that’s a lot of things I want and stuff that might be affecting me. Which is a reason I can’t keep going. I think the money idea would help but I think the issue is with that is I wouldn’t be able to follow through with it mentally especially when I really want the money.

Hello sir thanks for your response, yeah I can see that now that I think of it. Being “addicted” to being on a streak could ruin your recovery process. And yes I am starting to realize I’m doing this for me to be a better person not for anyone else and this it was my choice. And I’ll also try living it day by day, another person suggested that so I’ll definitely try that to my best potential.

Hello sir thank you for your response, that logic really does make sense to focus on small goals then it will add up. And I’ve herd about giving yourself awards (other than what you’re trying to stay away from obviously) only thing is that I’m still in high school and I don’t have much money so I vent really give myself anything for achieving something. But I could always do stuff that could try to help me. I also noticed that it did get easier beating my urges as time gone by. I even feel right now it’s easier than it was the last time I was at this spot.

Download the NoFap app or just click the panic button from your browser whenever you get urges.
    It works well for me.
