To shave or not to shave? (Trigger Warning)

Body hair in general is masculine. On the other hand I had to shave my pubic hair off when I went in for my vasectomy and now the stubble itches like crazy, is that why women treat it differently than shaving their legs and armpits?

Also occasionally on the subreddit I see posts encouraging men to "keep them trimmed" but since I didn't watch hardcore porn I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like.

 

I trimmed my hair short with scissors once. Itched and chafed for like a week after that, so I never did it again.
To me natural sounds fine for girls too.

 

I don't see nothing wrong with shaving your pubic hair as long as you keep it clean and neat lol

 

The question isn't whether it's alright to shave, it's if it's alright not to shave.

I would never trim or shave off my pubic hair.

People who shave off their body hair just end up looking like prepubescent teenagers, which is not somewhere I want to go.

I tend to do a variation of natural, trimmed and bare. Depends on how much time and energy I have. My husband doesn't care as long as he gets to get some! I also enjoy him trimmed or completely shaved but I am not going to complain.

@wildwood As a self-proclaimed feminist, I say keep it au naturel sister! I am no fan of shaving, it is almost completely due to our porn culture. Don't let porn producers influence the way you and other women modify their bodies. I can't speak for you but it seems like most women shave solely for the benefit of men which is pretty sick. Adult humans have hair. Hair is sexy!

 

Actually it has some added benefits of increasing sensitivity and other things I will not mention otherwise I wouldn't do it! At first I thought all of these things too but when my husband does it I don't think he looks like a prepubescent child or that he doesn't look like an adult so why would he think that of me? I think people take it a bit too seriously.

 

This is my literally my biggest fetish haha. Not the question of hair being present or not, I have no experience so don't see the practical advantages or inconveniences of it, it's the act of shaving itself that triggers my fetish. It fascinates me so much that it turns me on. Porn subs are SO TRICKY. I used to roam masculine forums in search on threads about this exact subject, and read over and over and over again tutorials specifically for men on how to shave their genitals. I don't understand why in the slightest.

I'd like to precise that from my understanding of feminism, the thing is precisely to each woman her choice, neither feeling forced to bare, or forced to keep it as a jungle. Women have the right to decide what they want to do with their body hair. If they decide that they want to do it purely to please their man, and if said man doesn't force them or make them feel forced, then they're being as feminist as a woman that prefers to let it grow. It's the beauty and the importance of it.

Personally for hygiene reasons on top of the fetish one I prefer to keep it trimmed and kept - it also makes me feel good about my body to care about it in this way and it makes me feel desirable - but both the very unkept and the brazilian looks are definitely synonym of porn culture for me. I don't have anyone to do it for, I just prefer not to have to be disgusted when I clean my shower, haha.

And I don't shave my armpits at all. Nothing AT ALL to do with my genders or sexuality. I do it because I find that unshaved armpits on hot women is hot so I mimick the act. It's funny. When I think about it I don't actually shave anything but trimming the pubes, purely because it's the way I act, I can't explain it. Suddenly sometimes I shave my legs just for the pleasure of feeling like I care about my body, not related to any gender, just existing as a live body. Sometimes I shave my entire body, inluding my arms, feet, everything, on impulsion. I do have a shaved head though, well pretty short hair trimmed with clippers, and I do have an increasingly big fetish of women with shaved heads - I'm super hella tricophile - and I noticed that the chav culture I'm super into often includes shaved heads. I'm sure it's related to gender and sexuality stuff. I used to be so sad about not getting facial hair that I desperately shaved the area around my mouth in hope that the hair would grow thicker and darker. Unsuccessfully, I'm afraid.

Edit: and I agree with @Limeaid, without getting too triggering the increase in sensibility is legitimately UNREAL. I forgot this important part. It's such a big difference for me that I still remember a year and a half after. It's also why I'm not caring too much about what's downstairs now that I don't touch it other than to clean anyway. I also think that it's super different when you have a partner than when you do it for yourself. It's also about pleasing the other and being pleased by pleasing.

I meant they take the whole "it makes me look like a prepubescent child" idea too seriously. Some women refuse to shave because they feel like it makes them look like children which is "icky" to them. I think this is taking that idea too far.

 

Well that is what it look like to me. After all, androgenic body hair is a secondary sex characteristic. Hairless genitals just look childlike and weird to me.

 

But the vagina is attached to a full grown woman with hips and boobs! A child's vagina looks different than an adults just like a child's penis looks different from an adults. I could never look at an adult males penis and think it looked like a kids just because it had no hair on it. I don't think there would be any mistaking me for a kid but who knows....obviously you are not alone in your thoughts about it.

But its pretty normal now.I just trim my hairs be it beard,underarms or down there.I don't like to shave.But most important thing is areas must be clean and comfortable.Earlier i used to shave my beard every third day.My hair grows faster but now i just trim them.When its really imp eg. interview,presentation or so then i clean shave.I never shaved my pubes and will not ever.i think its a bit risky job for boys than girls because of anatomy of genitals.so i use trimmer and scissors.I shaved earlier my arm pits but now i trim them also.Point is they must be clean that's it.

And i really don't know how my wife will think about all.But i know this also that i too don't have any preconditions that i would like her clean or with hairs.its quite up to her,how comfortable she feels with her style.The area must be cleaned that's it.So not shaving is not a problem i think.

Why we thought about this??might be because we saw some advertisement of hair removing creams,trimmers and all rubbish sort of stuff??or it might be related to self hygiene and comfort.But for me its not a big deal if things are clean.But still i chose to keep them trimmed(not shave just keep them short) and clean.

Genitals of a child and adult and then of an old one are different if one can notice it.Well its all about how we see things.Its only my way of watching the stuffs and others can have certainly different ways.
