Why I decided to join NoFap

Hello everyone,

I discovered NoFap a few months ago while I was doing some research on Porn Addiction, something I didn't think could be possible before, and I decided to give it a try, just to prove something to myself. It appears that after a month or so (and after experiencing all the symptoms that this website describes in terms of addiction) I realized that I was indeed addicted to pornography.

I did what you guys call a "relapse" this evening, and decided to give this community a try, to get some help and infos about PMO and Porn Addiction.

I am currently doing a thesis in visual communication on the matter of Porn Addiction, and I think this would be a great opportunity for me to gather intel on the subject as well as to test what it is like to truely "rebooting".

Personnaly, I started porn at the age of 12 years old, and have masturbated in front of porn ever since. Sometimes a few times a week, sometimes everyday.

I have a girlfriend (4 years and going strong), and after the first month of trying to quit pornography, I realized how it warped my perception of an healthy sex life in couple, and how much pressure I brought on my gf. Not a very good feeling. But I'm hoping this reboot will help me get a better hold on my personnal and sentimental life.
