Why is NOFap criticised ?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by JackOfAll, Apr 23, 2019.

  1. I see this happening to me when I refer to my faith while talking about how I make my decisions (when being asked for justification). Explaining how one aligns life choices to a certain moral code is enough to make people uncomfortable. Especially if I explain how and why I try to stay clear of sin might get some really angry - those who convinced themselves they are completely alien to the concept of supernatural are the most susceptible to this. Of course I never preach as well.

Obviously finally quitting PMO for real is just another decision founded on these grounds.

You know feminism do NoFap. I'm a feminist myself. I've so been called a SJW by members of this forum.

Yeah I came across this guy who said after doing NoFap he could levitate and fly. Lol! He was also telling people to send him money via PayPal because he was a fapstronaut. Some people who do NoFap are insane.

Well I've been shamed on here. You have to be careful what you say on here because you might get attacked.

You go around telling people 'God' speaks to you so no wonder people are uncomfortable. We can't know if God is telling you this stuff or if you're making it all up. I've seen people who say God tells them stuff use it to take advantage of vulnerable people.

You do preach. You bring God into threads that have nothing to do with God.

  4. I was talking about the thing called real life.

  5. I deal with the same things. I've been trying to walk closer to God so I'n addition to PMO I'm abstaining from alcohol, Useless entertainment, drugs and casual sex and I have friend that try to talk me out of it like I'm smoking crack or something. People know that this stuff can have negative consequences and attacking you for abstaining is easier than evaluating their own behavior.

@King Og of Bashan His example fits perfectly with the focal point of the thread because were discussing why people would discourage others from dropping negative habits and improving themselves. It's not like he's telling everyone repent or die.

  6. Were you shamed by a member of the NoFap Staff/Moderation team? If not then you were not shamed by NoFap. Just like if someone from an AA group shamed me I would know their actions are in direct opposition to AA’s mission and values and therefore not from AA.

  7. I avoid similar vices, interestingly some of the decisions I already made long before walking with the Lord. I was never keen on alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and casual sex, which didn't help with my social endeavors back in the days.

The whole NoFap has unwillingly created the idea that all the problems in the universe are due to PMO and you can solve them by not touching yourself or by watching pornography. Some people think they are higher beings than humans because "semen retention" saying they got superpowers like high stamina, "Aura reading" whatever that is, face structure change, attract the opposite sex like flies to a pile of feces, etc. With people like this around, it is hard to not feel repulsed by NoFap.

  9. This is another example of what this thread is about. People are so "happy" with their negative self-image and resulting misery that the possibility of "drastic" changes alone "repulses" them. So anyone else has to submit to their misfortune set in stone as well. They simply can't accept that they did something wrong their whole life and with a change in habits all that stuff thought being out of reach suddenly becomes possible.

My journey started three months ago before I registered on this forum thanks to grace alone. I wasn't believing in personality change, yet it happened. Some very improbable things happened - improbable for my old self's belief system. When my streak was nearing 30 days I remembered visiting this website a few years ago and decided to register and keep going for the 90 days goal - which I now reached.

I think I have never in my entire life seen or met a feminist who genuinely want men to succeed and prosper in life because they automatically think they have done so on the expense of women, themselves included. That is rarely the case in Western nations these days.
It is like some envious poor people out there who think that all wealthy people are selfish, greedy, that they became so on the expense of the poor and haven't deserved it. Simply because they believe that wealth is a zero-sum game where some have to be poor in order for a few to become rich (ie. the pieces of the cake are limited and no more cakes can be created)
