    Day 34 saiyans

You will always be tested the most before leveling up. Bettering yourself is something you do for life. Ergo we will be tested countless times through out our lives, and we must not falter. We must push through and rise to see the other side. No matter what happens to us, never give up!

    Day 274 - 9 months!

So small celebration: it's been exactly 9 months to this day that I've watched anything related to porn.

    So since then:
    - No watching porn videos or images
    - No searching on escort websites
    - No peeking
    - No "Google this hot porn actress but don't click"
    - No scrolling through bikini sections of online stores
    - No "checking out this hot girl on IG, Snapchat, whatever (social media) website
    - Nothing!

The only naked women I've seen the last 9 months were the ones I managed to build up a real connection with and sex was a part of that connection. Instead of the superficial instant gratifying, artificial and most of all losing (self) respect way of achieving that. And I can say: it feels darn good to be like this. None of the high dopamine surgres that I could get from online porn could give me this feeling of pride, self respect and self worth.

So what do I notice the most? There are now more and more days that I just don't even (breefly!) think about porn, escorts or going for that quick & easy "fix". I'm totally immersed in productive activities that are not easy to do in the short term but is giving me more satisfaction and meaning in the medium/long run. It will contribute building me up to further develop myself as a meaningful person and respectable man: I'm studying a new language (following a weekly class), go to the gym 4x a week and working towards a competition, teaching a strength class, following dancing lessons & practice weekly and I'm immersed in working hard at my job and also study for it in my spare time and am motivated in doing so. I've even been asked if I'm open to co-teach a salsa class with someone...more and more good things "just" starting to happen and come my way now.

In the past when I was still watching porn (or failing to quit) I also did some of these activities. But one of the biggest difference was that I often times lost motivation for most of them and just stopped and started over again later. And it also took quite some discipline back then to do. Now those things I just automatically (effortless) do or I'm even looking forward doing and enjoying the process.

I'm kind of repeating myself a little here. Sorry for that. But it's partially to just remind myself of how bad it used to be or how good it is now. But somehow I just tend to get used to it and forget to be grateful for it. And still I believe I'm not there yet. So I'm excited to find out how much more I'll be able to grow in knowledge, motivation and being able to enjoy the real things in life.

  10. Day 0.
    Had a bad day yesterday.
I felt tired, had difficulties performing at work and felt pessimistic in general. I turned to P for escapism.
At this point my biggest mistake is not turning away from all screens when I'm in a bad state.
I'll figure it out. As Lexro said, I would like some of that energy and optimism, I could really use it at this stage in my life.

  17. Day 6.
Finishing off the week strong, no tv, quit chewing tobacco and coffee, waking up at 3am, exercising, meditating, eating healthy, more exercise, no tv instead I'm constantly listening to educational podcasts (joe rogan is a guilty pleasure), journalling and reflection, and reading. Also school work but I haven't hammered out my routine to the point where I can cover school work throughout the week, banging out what I need to do tomorrow and figuring out a big picture problem, money management.

No porn yesterday, no porn today, and no porn tomorrow. One day at a time.
The fatigue is no joke, looking forward to this weekend. Make sure you get your rest in bud. The real magic happens during recovery.
