STAR seems to be advisable in many life situations. sometimes stepping back is not designated. Then you have to create the space (to step back into) yourself. When you created it, other people can use it too.

Hey man, I just saw that you've also got a timer on the habit of popping your fingers. I have this big addiction of snapping every possible bone in my body. My neck, my back, fingers, wrists, all of it. Could you give me some feedback on how you do it?

  I literally decided I didn't want too... I still do occasional catch myself. For the first 3 or so days my fingers began feeling tighter and tighter and it was difficult to not do it. After that it has been relatively easy. Part of the reason was I saw no benefit to it and my girlfriend thought it was a gross habit. I still pop my back.

  Evidently, it is a benign habit. The sound is created when a cavity is created in the joint. Strange, but true, hahaha! I wonder why she thinks it is gross. That seems even more strange! :D
