Magnesium, the USDAs biggest blunder.

Did this article help you understand the role of magnesium, and its importance in the human body?

Okay listen.....the USDA website claims that magnesium deficiency is rare, But if you look on any kind of peer reviewed science journal, majority of them claim that ~48% of people in the US are magnesium deficient. USDA claims that the normal human being generally eats ~300mg of Mg per day.... how convenient, so close to the Recommended daily allowance.
But dude, just look at the common sense numbers...
1 whole chicken of 5 pounds(whole fryer), doing the math...154mg of Mg in 1 lb of chicken, x 5 = 771mg of Magnesium. But who can eat a whole chicken in one sitting? That's enough chicken for literally one week. Not considering the general sugary/alcoholic/caffeinated beverage which almost completely destroys absorption ratio. So divide that by 7 days of the week, thats 110mg/day +/ ~100mg. Majority of 'healthy foods' have tops ~150mg of Magnesium, not including the macro's.... Given that magnesium has 1000 hours (142 days) half life, it may not be that bad. So considering you're eating healthy, you just might be subclinically deficient, not enough to kill you, but to give some symptoms..... Also considering how much stress(oxidative or cognitive), alcohol, and caffeine, consumption generally that is done by people, the numbers might actually be a little more than 48%. Our paleolithic ancestors ate around ~600mg of Mg per day!!Look it up!

    Medical Perspective....
I know this looks trivial, but also understand that the body utilizes Magnesium in over 300 enzymes, majority performing more than one function. If you want, look up Magnesium in kinase activity. If you get really into it, you'll understand the full depth. Literally all your energy systems, depend on Magnesium. What happens if you don't complete glycolysis? Oh thats right, no NADH/FADH2. And if you don't have that, oh thats right no TCA...and if you don't have that...oh wait no Oxidative phosphorylation...it may seem rash to compare it to that of oxygen, but is it really? All the other metabolites, and substrates could be rendered, but what about this mineral?

Incorrect Mg+ levels could also lead to inappropriate levels in androgen, and as well Vitamin D, also Calcium. Magnesium is a co-factor for the conversion of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol(pro-vitamin D), to 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol(Vitamin D active). As we all know Vitamin D levels are directly related to Testosterone levels, which represent endocrine health (I know a guy who devoted his whole life to testosterone, and this is definitely in his guideline) Not to mention Vitamin D and Testosterone both share the same backbone, Cholesterol.

Magnesium defiency has been linked to heart disease, diabetes type II, depression, sudden cardiac failure, LETHARGY, osteoperosis, anxiety, general fatigue, ADHD, insulin resistance, even hypertension....like bruh..

This actually got me thinking, what if obesity isn't as much a disease, rather its the body putting energy metabolism on hold until it has the correct level of substrate to process that energy?

That's it for today, lemme know your thoughts!
Heres some links for the research...

Hey man I believe you, those leafy greens be killing it. The leafy greens, nuts, all have insanely high amounts of Magnesium, so energy is never an issue... Its interesting too, there are studies showing that in Uganda, people eat less meat, by like half of what we eat, and they have higher Serum calcium, and higher Bone density, in like astounding levels. My bro told me, its freaking insane.

It's super nuts though, we live in one of the richest nations in the world. Yet we have massive nutritional gaps, we have massive gaps in correct nutritional information. And imagine that, even the USDA is blind sighted...are they that delayed in science, or are they just bought ?

  4. Actually magnesium plays a very important role in our body system. For every molecule of sugar you consume it takes around 54 molecules to digest it. Supplementing of magnesium is important but offcourse after consultations from your doctor.

Yea if you're taking medications, consult. But it's not generally seen as a clinical epidemic considering that it rarely shows low in the blood serum. Therefore what I am talking about is actually subclinical magnesium deficiency. The point where it may affecting portions of you biophysical character, but not to the point where it may be causing adverse diseases. Either way it's something to look out for considering CVD, T2DB, and a decent amount of characters play around the CaSR reception in the body, and magnesium is a key player in Ca regulation as well.

Tbh most of people have deficiency of all minerals, not only magnesium
