Hey Pone, I am from Greece and here almost nobody takes cold showers hahaha. Especially in winter when temperature is very low and humidity high it seem like crazilly bad idea. Lets tell you an experience... when a friend told once that he takes cold showers even in winter it was the first time I heard someone to do it... everyone else considered him as actually weirdo... For me it was the first cold shower and I am 23 yo. Greeks like better even the hot water at beaches hahahah. Too much information, but it is worth to share these because we all come from different places of the world and find it cool to learn something about the habits in other nations. In conclusion Greeks wouldn't take a shower, if they visit your country hahaha.

Man that is really good!! I think that articulates very well what I'm discovering. Having a rearview IS necessary and helpful, but typically isn't the focus. The vast majority of our focus goes towards looking forwards and attending to our present position. Thanks for sharing that!
Hey @Mike10classic actually that depends on if you're doing hard mode or regular mode. To define them simply: Hard mode is when you abstain from all Porn, Masturbastion, AND Orgasm (no PMO) for 90 days. Normal mode is when you abstain from all Porn and Masturbation (PM) for 90 days. In normal mode you can have sex. There are two schools of thought when it comes to which one is better, and I'm not sure there is a definitive answer. Many people swear one way or the other that their way is the best, but there's no definitive science to prove either one is the best. You can find a ton more resources and information on this website regarding this topic. The important thing is that YOU decide what your goal is. If your goal is to do a hard mode reset (no PMO) then yes, you need to reset your counter. If you choose to do normal mode, then you do not need to reset since having actual sex does not break the reboot. I think it's most important for all of us to remember that PORN is the evil we are trying to eradicate. The path to get there may be different for each person.
Dude I am right there with you! Normally not a sweets guy, but I LOVE donuts. Something I've mentioned on this thread before is that when you start detoxing from porn your brain starts craving dopamine. You're not getting the dopamine rush you did so your brain is trying to find some other way to get that "fix" (i.e. return to homeostasis). Sugar is an obvious alternative because it can give you a small dopamine rush. In short, I also find myself more tempted by sweets when I'm abstaining from PMO and/or alcohol. Personally I think there's a fine line to walk when it comes to responding to those urges. You certainly don't want to replace porn with a different bad habit (like over-indulging on donuts every day), that would end up hurting your health in a different way AND keep your brain hooked on dopamine spikes. On the other hand, the rebooting process is difficult as it is, and I find it goes better if I'm not TOO spartan. At this point it's better to give in to a donut than to give in to PMO. If you have to choose one, choose the donut. Once you've got PMO firmly under control (say, after 90 days) then you can move towards the smaller, less dangerous habits and deal with them. I guess the point is don't try to deprive yourself of TOO MUCH all at once or your brain will freak out from lack of dopamine and you'll end up binging on something. That's my experience anyway. Take it slow and wean down off of these addictive things gradually so your brain has time to adjust. Hope that helps! You are awesome and I'm really glad you've joined this forum!
45/90 Half way. I thought I'd be more excited but I'm actually just have a really rough day yesterday and today. Urges are hitting me pretty hard, which hasn't happened to me in several weeks. It's funny the thoughts that come into your brain trying to rationalize a relapse. In fact, it's even a little scary how LOGICAL your addicted brain can be in trying to get you to take a hit from the PMO bong. "45 days is a great streak! You can start over tomorrow. It won't make that much of a difference. You're already feeling urges that are too strong, you need a release and then you can start over. It'll be easier next time. You'll do better next time." Geez! That's not my goal! My goal is 90 days! Every step towards porn is a mistake. Even the slightest thought in that direction is NOT in line with our goals. I'm not trying to be hard on anyone, I know it's very difficult. I'm just trying to be clear with my own brain what is and isn't acceptable. Fishing isn't acceptable. Fantasizing isn't acceptable. Edging isn't acceptable. ANYTHING that's like porn is NOT in line with my goal and ANY STEP in that direction is NOT WHAT I WANT. Don't tell me otherwise, brain, you don't know what I need right now.
09/90 I'm a little horny, but nothing serious. I feel progress, my brain is no longer flooded with porn.
...okay.....DAY 8. I still feel the same. No changes after having quickie sex on day six. I was expecting to feel sluggish or drained but I still got my energy. Asked a few people in this challenge. After reading their response I'm content and resuming my journey. Keep on fighting guys.
