Well it was a difficult day yesterday. We went to our first counseling as a couple. For the most part it was good. But he made a suggestion that did not sit well with either if us. But u have a lot if reflection to do, a lot of growing to do. My positives today are. 1. I will not let shame ruin my day. 2. I will be there for my wife. 3. I will not get defensive, and stay positive.
Wrote a test and was satisfied Stopped being hard on myself and amused myself with a novel from my favourite author Understood the importance of consent in any intimate relationship
I have family and friends that care about me and love me. I have air in my lungs and another chance to choose what I do. I think I will go for a hike today in the green forest a freedom not all have.
1. I did a short workout outside before dinner. 2. I'm grateful for having a job. 3. It's nice to find the positive things to balance my negative bias.
Did a lot if soul searching yesterday and figured a few things. Nothing earth shattering, but stuff I definitely need to work on. 1. Stay calm, stay in my happy place. 2. Do something nice for my wife. 3. Let in less shame about myself. Let it go.
I also did some soul searching yesterday. After a relapse I was at wits end so I reached out to God and he met me. So I'm grateful for forgiveness and strength. I woke up today and I feel a lot better than I have this week. Three things. 1. I am grateful for the ability to run. I ran for kms then cycled 7.5. The Rush when I got home was crazy. 2. I'm not ashamed of myself. One should not condemn themselves for mistakes made. But grow from them. 3. I know life is going to get better so I'm going to really try this time around I'll get back to a good streak and stay clean.
I watched a Dodo YouTube clip about a family who looked after the eggs of a Giant Snapping Turtle before releasing them in the local pond. I spent time with my 3 cats. I fed the garden birds.
1. I'm in good physical health. 2. There will be better days ahead when I make the effort to get there. 3. Making time to meditate more
I'm fit and healthy. I bumped into a nice girl I'd lost contact a few years ago in the supermarket today. And yes visited a friend and he's doing great. Life is t so bad we just have a tendency to focus on the darkness and that traps us in the valleys. If we can ignore that even for a moment we can look up and see the peak just ahead. Well within reach.
My personal goal is not falling backwards and making the same mistakes over and over. Its not easy sometimes, patterns are sometimes ingrained within us. Sometimes we react the same way for reasons we haven't discovered yet. But with time, patience and doing the work we will create a new path that is healthy and sustainable. My positives for today. 1. I'm healthy and not weak emotionally like I was in my past. 2. I have a great support and I have failed them in the past. No more. 3. I'm alive, happy, a roof over my head, a beautiful wife, a career, and so much more. Why jeopardize that. I am stronger because of my support.
