Can you still reboot if you look at porn?

    Hi Guys,

I've seen a few people on here now comment that even looking at porn counts as a relapse.

I've just hit over 30days with no orgasming. The thing is part of my job is looking at porn so it's not possible for me to give it up entirely. I'm wondering, as long as I don't orgasm to it, will the reboot still work the same for me or do I literally have no hope here?

    Thanks

You're good, you're doing semen retention, aslong as you don't relapse you're going to be fine.

  3. The goal is to reduce, or if possible, to eliminate the superstimuli that porn and masturbation are, and keep orgasms to sex (and of course, not abusing of these too).
If you honestly tell me that watching some porn is part of your job, and that it is inevitable, i would tell you that reducing the amount of porn you watch is better than not reducing at all.
So yes, stop PMO in your "free time".
But know that the more porn you see, the more masturbation you do, and the more orgasm you have, the hardest and slower your reboot will be.

Can you kick a smoking habit while downing a couple packs of Marlboros every week?

What kind of job do you have that makes you look at porn? Is it content moderation? Or involved in the porn industry??

Just curious because that's crazy to hear lol.

I think the general idea of Reboot is to not view any porn, no masturbation no orgasm. But obviously this won't be possible, so as long as you don't seek porn outside of your jobs requirements you are doing good.

If part of your job is to look at porn it means you work in the industry of it. Get out of there, your job makes people miserable, and you. It will numb you to everything.

You cannot reboot if you are looking at porn.
This post from a couple of years ago answers the question some have raised.
If you want to reboot from porn you need a career change. Harsh, but true. o_O

Sorry for not clarifying in the original post but essentially I'm involved with marketing/advertising, media editing and a huge long list of other things. I understand the irony here and yes, you can see why it's been insanely difficult for me to quit porn before.

I guess I will just keep doing what I'm doing - Trying to not look at it outside of work time and hope it doesn't set me back too much. I don't really have another choice. I'm over a month now and it's the longest I think I've been since before I started pmo 20 years ago.

One might also say that the reason you fell down to findom etc and cant get hard for normal stuff is because you look at porn all day.

Yeah probably. I've been looking at porn since I was about 12. It's totally messed with me, consumed me and I didn't even really realise how bad.

It's only since taking a step back from it all, I realized that it's not normal to be fapping everyday to weird fetishes online and having no long term break, no time off for your brain or mind. I stumbled across some extreme hardcore porn the other day that normally would have got me going but honestly, seeing it this time, it actually made me feel sick and I had no interest to fap to it, so I guess that's some progress.

I recommend searching for a new job. Still not pmoing is good but you basically do the p everyday.

It all depends on what your goal is. Sounds like you've been abstaining as best you can, and you've deescalated. That's great! I don't think you can reach your full potential while working that job, though.

Figure out what you want, then make the hard choices. But even the reduced amount you've done so far is showing you some benefit, so good job. Keep that going.
