Mate I don't remember your reboot story but I remember the name, you've been here for a long time. Why do you write day 77 when you've been here for so long?

  2. Day: 514

I'm feel slightly better compared to the first part of this week which was hard after a Pr0n Wet Dream, I felt the symptoms of PAWS - Depression, Fatigue, Headache, Nightmares afterwards...

All I can say that after a certain time of bad PAWS things get a little better at least according to my personal experience.

Up until now I feel calm I can think just a little better, I still feel foggy with a bad memory.

Anyways, this is my update so far, hope it helps someone.

Best of luck and stay strong my dear friends!

Not as far as I know. Here's hoping not...
I haven't been tested for a long time. All the symptoms that used to go with low magnesium are worse than ever - namely muscle twitches and cramps, and of course heart palpitations (again, it's muscle, so not surprising).
I am thinking of blowing my dwindling savings on more testing (including magnesium, but also everything else I can think of, including hormones and neuro-transmitters, if possible) and some very expensive doctors, but tbh I'm not convinced that it's worth it. From past experience I know that until I've abstained from PMO for long enough for my symptoms to gradually melt away, I'm going to feel like sh*t no matter what. I don't think there is anything that any doctor could tell me that would make any meaningful difference. But it would be interesting to test myself now, and again in say a years time (hoping of course that I've not relapsed in that time, and that I'm feeling noticeably better), and look at what has changed. This could point to markers for PMO induced PAWS.

However, I ask this because I am seriously looking at trying to get medical help, because my symptoms have been so severe: what type of doctor / specialism would be best? eg
    • Psychiatrist
    • Endocrinologist
    • Neurologist
    • Other?
I've tried using Dr Google for this, but there is no obvious answer - all you get is loads of stuff about PAWS and alcoholism. PAWS and PMO is just too novel to have registered.

This reminds me of something I read a while back: In the 1970s there was a rise in non alcoholic fatty liver disease; at the time this was seen as only something that alcoholics could get. So when increasing numbers of people showed up with fatty livers, and were adamant that they weren't heavy drinkers, doctors didn't believe them. However, after a lot of arguing, the science was done - and guess what? It was caused by sugar. But that skepticism had to be overcome first, and it took a long time. I see this as a parallel to where we are - we probably are suffering with PAWS, but who is going to believe us? And how long will it take before perceptions change?

Unfortunately there is little help out there if you are paws sufferer. Psychiatrist would be a good helping hand but never let any treatment be an excuse to relapse.

Very true at this point in time. Told a psychiatrist and a psychologist about what's happening and they had no clue what I was talking about, immediately dismissed PMO induced PAWS and went to another topic. Thank God this forum exist.

Does anyone here has heavy head pressure?. I'm not talking about a headache, but a constant feeling of pressure in different parts of the head. Very annoying.

I don't know which doctor is best. Today everyone is so specialized in their field and are quick to send you away if they don't find anything in their specialized field.
Perhaps it is best to look for a practice that contains several doctors of different specialties. Neurologists and psychiatrists can often be found together, for example. So that, if necessary, they can send you to their colleague for further testing.

And then you need a bit of luck. I once saw two different endocrinologists. One only did a few thyroid tests and sent me away again. The other did everything from autoimmune antibodies, hormones, blood work, immune system. (maybe because he had his own lab in the practice - he earns from it).

I am somewhat skeptical about the value of testing neurotransmitters though. The brain is a closed system and the concentration of neurotransmitters in the brain is different from what you have in your peripheral blood or urine. And you don't know the state of the receptors.

    All the best!

I do. And from what I've gathered many of us do. I've also seen it stated as a typical symptom when withdrawing from sex/ masturbation in one two hundred years old medical book.

It is more pronounced shortly after relapse, or when overstimulating your brain with some other highly enjoyable activities, especially after long break. Sometimes I face it also during flatlines shortly before becoming better and going through PAWS Reduction. The way I see it, feeling this pressure in your head means that your brain is going through a reboot, readjusting the number of receptors, which is a good thing. Feeling this pressure in your head means that you're progressing. :)

Amazing, a 200 years old medical book and they knew about this already. Maybe the ignorance the masses are experiencing right now is on purpose. "Masturbation is healthy", "One orgasm a day keeps the doctor away, and is good for your prostate"

I know - it is infuriating.

As they say, "science progresses one funeral at a time"... in this case, it'll be the death of a whole generation before there's enough of a cultural shift to acknowledge the power of forces like porn and orgasm. Until then we'll just get gas-lit - "Don't be so uptight!" "You're not religious are you?" "Just chill out maaaaaaaaaaaaaaahn"...

I don't think it's a conspiracy - just collective stupidity, down-stream of the sexual revolution.
