Advice needed

Hi Guys,
I would like to ask you for some advice regarding this addiction. My boyfriend recently opened up about the topic and I feel completely overwhelmed by the situation. I would like to hear some pieces of advice on how I can best support him through this difficult time.
Should I suggest sex abstinence? From your experience what's the best thing a partner can do to be supportive.

Here is my perspective, but it does vary from couple to couple; so, you can take what I say very lightly.

When I told my wife about my PM addiction, I got a response that I didn't expect. Instead of being thrown out into the streets, she was relieved that it wasn't anything like pedophile or having an affair (although, an argument of consuming porn is having an affair). For me, just being there and sticking with me as I go through this journey is enough of a support. I never wanted to put the burden of having my wife be an accountability partner because that is a huge ask.

In my opinion, he has to own his journey and set his own goals. If you support him on that, that should be enough.

Folks, please chime in here as well; I'm not sure if I am a typical case or not.

Thanks for the advice. I’m trying not to push him but he kinda cut the story short when he told me about it, trying not to enter into many details and this made me wonder many things. He assured me that it has nothing to do with pedo or anything more serious that I should be concerned about.. so I decided to believe him.
