Any experience with recovering sensation from “death grip”

So I’m sure many of you know the coined term death grip and while I’m not sure if it’s quite a true phenomenon or not I do know that I may have been suffering from related conditions. I’m quitting masturbation because for the last 10 years, (24M) I’ve done it non stop and always with a very tight grip. So I will say the sensation to my penis has definitely diminished and I’m hoping quitting masturbation will return more sensation to my penis, especially around the glans, and I can then enjoy sex more. Any advice or similar experiences are recommended and thank you for your help!

So the best way to get rid of death-grip is to stop masturbating .

This seems simple, but many guys who have death-grip report not being able to have enjoyable/functional sex right after ceasing masturbation. Death grip is not relevant to many on NoFap, but I believe I've seen some stuff about it. I believe that for death grip, the recommended time for abstaining from penile stimulation is 4 weeks. During this time, you should avoid anything that stimulates your penis or genitals, whether its yourself, a partner, or an object. If you can do so without getting erect/stimulated, putting lotion/oil on your penis can help increase sensitivity over the 4 weeks. This should absolutely not be done, though, if it makes you hard/pleases you. Death grip means your dick needs a break more than it needs lotion, so if touching yourself that much sets you off, don't even go there. After that, begin having sex with partners, in order to acclimate your penis and pelvis to what sexual stimulation should feel like. If you don't have sex for more than 2 weeks, these are some healthy masturbation strategies I remember:
    • Only masturbate once per week. Plan to masturbate ONCE on Sunday if you did not have sex the previous week.
    • Avoid using porn.
    • If your body doesn't want to masturbate, don't. Masturbate because you want to treat yourself, not because you have to.
    • If you wear a condom during sex, wear one when you masturbate.
    • Use lots of lubricant/lotion.
    • Go at the lowest speed you can take while still being aroused/erect. Do not go faster than you normally would during sex.
    • Grip your penis so that you tug on the skin, but do not pull it.
    • Go up and down the head/shaft in a fluid motion, as if your penis was penetrating someone.
    • Try changing up your position (rotate between lying back, sitting up, kneeling up, and standing up).
    • Do not focus on one area (glans, base, shaft).
    • Focus on the sensation, buildup, and orgasm.
    • If you feel orgasm coming, do not speed up or slow down. Let the sensations slowly build up, keep the speed constant, and let the orgasm flow through yourself. This helps train your body to enjoy and expect the simple process of arousal>>>erection>>>sustained stimulation>>>orgasm.
    • DO NOT EDGE (literally most important item in list)
However, if you find that your erections and orgasms come easier from porn than through regular masturbation or sex with partners, you likely have Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED). Unlike death-grip, which happens in the penis, PIED happens in the brain. Since the brain is a *little* more complex than your dick, the solution is a little more complicated. To learn about PIED, check out these articles:

If you do have PIED, fear not, as there is an easy solution: you gotta do a hardmode 90 day reboot, and then rewire yourself to normal sexual interactions:

Personally, I had terrible ED for a couple years, and did not know what caused it. I literally could not get erect with a girl sucking my dick. It was horrible :(. However, I found out about YBOP, did the reboot, and rewired. After a 90 day reboot and 45 days of rewiring with sex, I was in prime sexual function, with 105% boners and orgasms galore. Quite the turnaround. These are some of the tools I used, so encourage you to use them as well. Lmk if you have any other questions
