    It's amazing how fast life goes by. One day you're this 16 year old stud and the next day you're my age of 64. It's all good! I'm a vegan and I'm at my high school weight with more energy than most people half my age.

    I've been reading the book "your brain on porn." I think the guy who wrote this book was in his early to middle 20's when he was going through this life changing recovery. Is there anyone out there in my age range that can testify to eventually experiencing "cloud parting" results after giving up P&M for a significant period of time?

    I know that we go through many changes in life between age 16 and 64 but I was just wondering what you still have to look forward to when quitting these terrible addictions?

    Thankyou in advance!

    Hi, I am 4 years younger than you, so similar age range.
    I went no PMO on 12/6/2022 and so I have just celebrated 6 months porn free.
    I started off with magazines around age 17 and graduated to online porn in second half of 1990s. I first went porn free in 7/2011 and lasted 2 years before going back to porn for nearly 9 years. Basically I consumed porn for most of my adult life. It took me 140 days for me to lose all interest in wanting to view porn, so MUCH longer than the standard 90 days quoted elsewhere, but even after 4 decades of porn use I was able to break the habit and lose all interest in porn. The first 30 days are tough but it gets easier.
    What to look forward to? Mostly self respect and a new ability to get things done. I have lost 16 KG through renewed determination and free time to go to the gym. ED remains a problem but there are bigger problems on life than ED. My advice would be to give it 6 months no PMO and then decide for yourself. If I can break this habit after 4 decades of porn use, so can you.

    Ok thankyou
    Hanging in there.
    For those who have ED I believe the problem reaches beyond porn use.
    A penis is in fact a vein that fills with blood to form an erection. If there is blockage there preventing this event then its a sign of a problem elsewhere.

    I'm a vegan who has great cardio health. ED is not a problem despite all the years of porn & masturbation.
    Incidentally, what is PMO?

    PMO = Porn Masturbation Orgasm
    So no PMO means keeping away from all 3 while coming off porn.
    The problem is one may stop watching porn but if you use your previous porn experiences to masturbate and then orgasm one is arguably still using porn.
    I would suggest having a read of Naomi Wolf’s article from 2011 ‘Is Pornography Driving Men Crazy?’ It is a bit dated now but still an interesting read.
