As someone who have never used TikTok, how badly is the app?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Nov 5, 2022.

  1. Since the Covid19 pandemic started, an app called TikTok became a phenomenon, and those videos pop up everywhere as well as on my Instagram. I don't use Instagram for sexual stuff, I only use Instagram for photography, food & drink, travel, sports, activities, and, of course, celebrities. I know a lot of Instagram members use TikTok and post them but I don't feel like I want to use it for my Instagram. Same with Facebook which I do not have anymore. Twitter, who the fuck cares? Reddit can go to Hell.

Besides, I have watched these videos and I realized that TikTok isn't as useful as Instagram. Facebook's more popular, but Instagram is superior every day in terms of content. Instagram has posts, reels, stories, boomerangs, and layouts, as well as live/stream/broadcast. I don't know if TikTok has those or not but still, I don't think I can handle all of the controversies, misinformation, and censorship.

I guess I am better off not being on TikTok once. Instagram, Snapchat, and Youtube are all I need for myself because they are more diverse

I would recommend never ever using the app and instead, if you like, watching compilations on youtube. It's what I do, mostly watching gym compilations for motivation. It's serving me perfectly well. Everytime I reinstall the app I immediately delete it it's the biggest time succion machine ever invented

  3. I'll watch these videos later, It is very very interesting.

As matter of fact, Tiktok is very dangerous for the brain.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Ke$ha should sue TikTok for copyright.:emoji_sweat_smile:

Not gonna lie, that dance/pop song good shit back in those days, and that's when Ke$ha was popular. "Tik Tok" was a song, and now it's an app.:emoji_pensive:

  5. Never watched anything on there either...

I have never used it, I can tell you that it's clearly a dopamine chase though.

Think about it, short bursts of quick clips, all tailored to keep you on and keep the attention of people who have an extremely short attention span. I would definitely stay clear.

I seen the app everywhere and truth be told I never understood the appeal and after seeing how bad people using TikTok turns out I really have no plan on using the app ever.

  9. If you ask me, Tik Tok is the best argument I can think of for making college less accessable. Do we really want people who think that Earth has six moons to be in a position of power one day?

I'm sorry I'm confused; wouldn't that be an argument to make college MORE accessible? So that people actually learn and get smarter haha?

That being said, another point I want to make regarding discouraging the use of TT is that it's probably my number one most triggering social platform. Almost every time I use a porn site or Reddit to relapse, it's to look for stuff coming out of TT. There is something extremely arousing for me to watch mildly famous people engage in porn. And the dancing is really suggestive to me. So that's a valid enough reason to abstain from TT itself like the plague, but trust and believe I'm still going to watch gym compilations nothing motivates me more

  11. No, because Colleges would already be expecting people to know some of this stuff already. Plus, they probably would not have the resources to teach classes that offer career advancement and skills, while also trying to teach people, basic reading and math skills. But these days that seems to be hard enough, why? Because most modern college campuses are now having these places known as safe spaces which were originally intended to help out survivors of sexual assault and childhood trauma and a lot of other messed up shit that happened in their lives. But are now basically being used as adult daycare centers for people who think that reality works like the internet and think they can block out opinions, people, words, beliefs and opinions they don't like.

Here is an excellent video I have found explaining the whole problem with safe spaces and the excesses of modern politicically-correct culture.

Bro, as a representant for the alpha male community i advice you to not use the app. It is designed to know your every step. It sees what you like and show you more of it, so if you are a feminist, you will most likely see man-hating content. If you are a training guru, you will see more of that. It feeds you off your interests and it keeps you hooked on the app for hours. I dont know how but i just know the Elite is behind all this.

Some love the creativity and humor, while others find it a tad overwhelming. It really depends on what you're into. I'd say give it a shot, explore different niches, and you might discover something you enjoy. By the way, ever wondered how some creators skyrocket their follower count? It's kind of impressive. I've heard whispers about strategies like buy TikTok followers. Not endorsing it, but some say it can give your content a boost.
