    Just a quick reminder.
Be careful on Facebook. You never what might pop up. Don't spend too much time there. Instead, get shit done!

    Peace!

Not that I feel like I'm missing out, but everyone keeps going on about all this Facebook porn and I've never seen one bit on my newsfeed! A few years ago I would have loved having my two favourite things in one place but not now. You're right, people do need to be careful, it's unfair and it's wrong for it to be so commonplace and unavoidable on a site which adults use, let alone one which young people spend so much time on. I dread to think what problems the youth (ha I'n only 20) of today will have in the future if this pattern of early sexualisation continues.

For me, it isn't porn on Facebook, but rather other triggers on Facebook or elsewhere that get me thinking about porn. It could be a Slate.com story about lesbian weddings, or a picture of a woman I find myself attractive to. Recognizing that these are triggers allows me to know how I might respond and to prepare to respond differently in the future.

Oh yeah I see what you mean, I guess I'd never thought of it like that before. I'm probably quite lucky then that I rarely come into contact with material that acts as a trigger, I suppose that says something about my niche attraction haha

I noticed this yesterday. Was browsing photos, and boom, BOOBIES, are close enough, but to me its not the same as porn. It's almost like seeing a random girl out in public, or walking in on a friend, or something. It's just different.
But it did kinda set off a red flag in my head, but it could be just being too cautious.

  7. That's correct. Hiding away won't make you quit PMO.

Awareness and how we respond to sexual images is the key. It's not that I MO to non-porn images. But that image could make me start thinking about a particular porn scene and that is when the urge begins. In these first few days of NoFap, I've been able to fend off the urge and in the process have started to develop different responses to the triggers. Even without the triggers, I am finding these new response mechanisms to help. At one point yesterday, I caught myself beginning to think about a porn star, an urge soon arose, but I was able to distract myself long enough that soon after I simply forgot about it. It's important to know what the patterns are to PMO and to change them, part of the rewiring I believe.

I barely find any triggering images on Facebook. The real problem isn't Facebook, it's how you react. No matter what, you need to have self control when you encounter these images because sooner or later with or without Facebook you WILL encounter one offthese images and what you do after that is what determines whether your nofap journey is successful or not

Too much time on FB or the internet in general, I think, has a similar effect as porn or other addictions. It allows you to "check out" and not be present. Spending time zoning out is isolating. And isolation ain't good.

Not to add to the 'debate' I understand long term we can't be secluded from images forever, it's going to pop up somewhere. But for the initially weak or those in a weak moment. The less you are exposed to then maybe at that particular moment you might be spared.

Instagram is a big problem for me. Face book also but I browse certain hashtags on Instagram for my business, and even though they have absolutely nothing to do with porn or even remotely close to a half naked girl being involved in any way, they still manage to show up. It's hard not to give a 'second glance' when it's all over. Eventually you're gonna give in.

I'm a strong proponent of feed your body/mind 'crap' and you'll in turn receive a crappy result eventually. This simple mentality has helped my physical health almost miraculously. It so far has been extremely helpful in nofap as well.
