Can Men and Women Just Be Friends?

I have plenty of reading comprehension, thanks. None of that indicates being offended. It indicates someone thinking your opinion is dumb. Not the same thing.

My husband is the same, actually. It's been a learning experience since we've gotten married, since we were both used to having more friends of the opposite sex, and marriage of course requires a few more boundaries. But we've found a healthy balance. Having couple friends is great, because we all hang out together instead of always separating the men and women.

Yeah, I don't talk about it a ton. I've only just recently realized how much that's true and how long it's been true, but given my religious beliefs, I wouldnt act on it (if I weren't married... obviously I wouldnt act on it right now anyway, since I'm not available).

I think you’re the one who can’t look in the mirror and acknowledge that your comment was objectively wrong and only applies to you.

So in order for me to call something creepy I would have to not be guilty of any creepy behavior of my own past? That makes no sense.

I have had a huge problem with porn my whole life. I think that speaks for it self in terms of being perverted.

I thought this forum was about manning up and letting go of unhealthy weird habits/outlooks and growing into a better person.

Either way whatever works for you is fine it’s not that I really care. I just thought it was weird that some people feels it is impossible to not be attracted to a female and wanting to fuck every single one that you talk to/try to be friends with.

 

There’s a large difference between noticing attraction and have a true desire to f somebody. If you can acknowledge someone is attractive and put it to the side I’d consider you a person with self control. If you truly want to bang every woman you come in contact and would genuinely do it if the chance occurred then you’re creepy and are sexually controlled.
(Doesn’t mean I haven’t made the same mistakes because I have)

Desires and actions are different, though. You can control yourself. Just like you (hopefully) dont punch anyone who makes you angry, you can stop yourself from lusting after and "screwing" anyone you want.

They can control themselves. They just haven’t done so. So you’re saying it’s impossible to have self control, therefore it’s okay to indulge in every single desire you have?

 

Yes... I sure can. That's why I'm here, to try to control myself. The above comment I quoted did not sound like a person who is making any attempt to control themselves. That was a comment basically saying "well this is who I am, so theres nothing I can do about it, because its natural and fine." That's the same view most average people have about watching porn, and clearly those people are wrong.
