Hi!
I am new to this group and I have a question.
Are Lustful dreams sinful? ... I mean it's an odd question I know. But I want to know.
I had one today and from time to time.

 

Consent/willful choice is required for sin. You do not have control of your dreams, so they are not sinful.

 

Also, right before you go to sleep, ask both your Guardian Angel, and St Raphael to protect you through the night. And any other intercessors you want to ask to bring you peaceful sleep or to take lustful dreams from you.

 

Oh and cross yourself with holy water before saying these quick prayers.

 

I don't think so because they cannot be controlled. We don't really choose what we dream about, right?
It's a good question though.

 

Our novena to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots is complete! I began a new one today to undo the knot of my separation from my wife - I have this novena on infinite loop - but we should begin another here for our intentions of overcoming our addictions, and recovering successfully. St. Augustine, Pray For Us!

 

When you think like "sin against the flesh", then you will never have success.

Accept and love yourself, that's the first and most important step.

When you think of yourself like "sinful", then in fact you hate yourself, and thus, you can never progress.

 

New here. I'm tired of week after week going and falling into this sin. Go to confession and do it all over again the next week. The sadness I feel afterwards of having done it and having sinned. Porn stifles the spiritual life and cuts you off from grace. I usually do it once a week (sometimes twice), but it's too much. Need some Catholic brothers to confide in.

I joined the angelic warfare confraternity which is a confraternity that fights against impurity about a year and a half ago. The requirement is to do an ceremony with a Dominican priest and then get a cord and medal blessed with holy water. You're supposed to then wear either the medal or chord every day for the rest of your life. Additionally, there's a set of prayers that you are to pray every day. At first I wore the cord and prayed the prayers. I had lots of success, went an entire month without porn. Then laziness set in and then I stopped wearing the cord (I still wear the medal), stopped praying the prayers, and I haven't gotten back to that point again. I need the intercession of St. Thomas and Our Lady and must pray for purity every day. I need to start wearing that cord again as well.
