Day 9 Tomorrow - I feel no different, feeling quite depressed since Day 1

    Hey guys, I tried NoFap last year and the longest I went was 7 days, so I beat my record!

    But I feel no different and have been more depressed than ever... No, this is not a flatline because I've been this way since day 1. I was kind of expecting to at least feel better or some motivation to want to keep going but I haven't really found much in the way of benefits, quite depressing so far.

    With all this extra time in my day, it's given more time to think about how depressing and melancholic my day is. I have this 'I am Sober' app which gets me to log my mood at the end of every day and I never realised how every day I am just depressed.

    To be honest, the only thing that's keeping me on this streak is just to make myself suffer...

    Does anyone else have a similar feeling or any advice? I feel like I could do NoFap for a long time but it's sure as hell not going to fix anything.

    Oh and uh, I'm 17 if that helps

    It's a long and demanding process, if you want to see a difference you need to be ready to truly dedicate yourself to it, you know what I mean? It's different story for each man and that's what should motivate you to keep going. You don't know how your body will react after ten, twenty or thirty days. Maybe you will be feeling like a reincarnation of Alexander The Great, maybe you will be struggling with depression. It's not about feeling good all the time, it's about healing and rebooting. Give yourself time and remember that with every step you're getting closer to full freedom.

    Overall, what are you trying to accomplish? What are you goals on Nofap besides overcoming depression?

    I agree with this, but surely I'd notice a gradual change as I reach the 10th day mark
    Well, I’d really like to have a higher self esteem and be able to talk to people, not having social anxiety etc.

    Yea, we all started there before. It takes alot of personal development, working on yourself. And to deal with social anxiety, just have find your social interests (swimming, hiking, parties, dance or etc) and go do it either by yourself or with friends. Alot of your problems overtime improves with effort, practice, and patience. You just have to be relentless with it.
